Hey there all you October lovers!

Autumn has set in, the temperatures have officially dropped, and the leaves are following suit!

Steph and Britt are here this week ushering us into a "subtle side of the sacred" as Steph puts it in the episode. Because of a shared experience in their past, our sisters this week have been waiting for this time of year to bring up our human experience of death. Bringing into play a long time question they have asked each other over and over:

Which experience with Death is more palatable: a sudden phone call to tell you what's happened? - or a longer, drawn out process of a terminal illness, where there is potential for a goodbye?

You'll excuse the sisters as their disposition may sound as if this is both a topic very close to home, and also one they have spent decades tackling. That said, ultimately the goal is to bring up uncomfortable topics, and begin to normalize these feelings.

Big encouragement out there to those of you who are living through the grief process currently, and we wanted to put a few resources down for folks who may need it:

No Death No Fear by: Thích Nhất Hạnh

The Shack by: William P. Young

For those of us interested in diving in a bit more to the conversation outside of the tender space of grieving, in an effort to become more and more comfortable with the topic in general, both Steph and Britt would encourage looking up the nearest Death Cafe where you live.

You can easily do that here: https://deathcafe.com/

Big hugs, out there to everyone!
