Sometimes the hardest relationships to understand are the ones where love is still present.
You can love someone deeply and still recognize that you don’t like who you become around them. Maybe you’re more anxious. More guarded. More reactive. Maybe you overthink everything you say, silence parts of yourself to keep the peace, or find yourself constantly explaining, defending, or questioning who you are.
And acknowledging that doesn’t mean the love wasn’t real.
In this episode of The Kenia Moreno Podcast, we explore the difference between loving someone and feeling healthy, peaceful, and authentic in their presence. We talk about paying attention not only to how you feel about someone, but also to how you feel about yourself when you’re with them.
We’ll explore emotional patterns, boundaries, self-abandonment, nervous system responses, and why some relationships can bring out versions of us we barely recognize.
Sometimes growth isn’t about deciding whether someone is a good or bad person. It’s about asking yourself:
Who am I becoming in this relationship?
Because you can care about someone, appreciate what you shared, and even continue to love them—while realizing that protecting your peace may require something to change.
Love matters.
But so does the person you become while loving someone.
