We kick things off with the latest Kawhi Leonard update before getting into one of the most important debates of the new NBA season: who actually finishes where in the standings? Matt is also back talking about dunking — this time making sure everyone knows he’s a two-foot jumper.

The boys run through their predictions for the Western Conference, starting with the battle at the top between OKC and San Antonio, with Houston right there behind them. We get into the Lakers, why their roster might look very different without enough wings, and whether the Nuggets’ depth and development can make up for some serious questions on the defensive end.

The Timberwolves are another major talking point, with Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels now taking on the role of the new veteran leaders. We discuss Minnesota’s perimeter defence, athletic wings and what their new-look team could look like. Then it’s onto Phoenix, who may lack big-man depth but have some seriously good wings and guards coming off the bench on valuable contracts.

Then we flip over to the Eastern Conference, where the predictions get even more chaotic. Matt and Skit are both putting the defending champion Knicks at number one, while Alex has Philly at the top. We talk about New York’s depth and why having actual NBA players throughout the roster could be huge when injuries hit.

Detroit gets some love after the John Collins–Tobias Harris swap, while Skit has the Pacers all the way up at number two. Alex questions Miami’s depth, and Matt and Alex spend a healthy portion of the episode making increasingly outrageous hot takes purely to provoke each other.

We also get into Toronto’s ridiculous collection of wings, whether that means a potential Kawhi-sized question mark, the Cavaliers’ formula for success, and why Matt isn’t convinced Cleveland has actually improved. And somewhere along the way, Alex apparently decides to become the Sherman German.

Finally, we lock in the official West and East standings predictions, compare everyone’s picks, and find out exactly where each team lands on the Yamology leaderboard.

The predictions are locked. Now we just have to find out who looks like an idiot by April.
