He's the author of two books, Six Weeks in Saratoga: How Three-Year-Old Filly Rachel Alexandra Beat the Boys and Became Horse of the Year (SUNY Press) and most recently The Front Runner: The Life of Steve Prefontaine (Mariner Books).
