Ep. 77, Iris sits down to have a great conversation with Breast Cancer survivor, comedienne and founder of NyLaughs.org Suzette Simon! Suzette lost her mother to breast cancer, but it wasn’t until she was diagnosed herself and experienced the stark health disparities firsthand that she launched #StrongBlackBoobs.
With the hashtag #StrongBlackBoobs, the initiative aims to tackle the high mortality rates faced by black women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Utilizing stand-up comedy, storytelling, boob puppetry, breast cancer awareness song parodies, performance art she calls “TittyProtesting,” boob animation, and more, #StrongBlackBoobs delivers a powerful message about breast health in an engaging and accessible manner.
