It's been a few weeks since Episode 5, and I want to be honest with you about why. Anxiety knocked me down hard enough that recording wasn't possible for a while. I'm back, and this episode is about exactly that kind of moment.
There's a lie floating around running culture that you have to hit a certain pace to call yourself a runner. I'm calling it what it is. It's not true. I break down what actually makes you a runner (hint, it's not your pace) and why it took me years to call myself an athlete even after I'd run marathons.
I also get honest about my own struggles with body image and food after losing my mother and my father, and why the falls, the stumbles, and the hard seasons don't get to define you. What defines you is what you choose to do next.
If you haven't heard Episode 5 yet, go back and give it a listen first. It sets up a lot of what we build on here.
Struggling to see yourself as a runner or an athlete? That's exactly the kind of conversation a strategy call is built for.
