A proposito di questo titolo

In this powerful episode of The Power of Family, hosts Terry Willis and Dr. Sonia Toledo sit down with family therapist Julie Hall for a deeply insightful conversation about the widening generational gap and what it truly takes to bridge it. Julie brings more than 15 years of clinical experience to this discussion, unpacking the emotional patterns, family dynamics, and inherited beliefs that quietly shape how we parent, how we communicate, and how our young people respond. Together, we explore: Why today's generation gap feels more intense than ever How defensiveness and withdrawal show up in families even when we're trying our best Why kids shut down or "push back" How to shift from correcting behavior to understanding what's underneath The surprising reason rupture and repair make families stronger than avoidance ever could The balance between warmth and structure that every child needs How humility and apology reshape family culture And the foundational question that every adult must begin with: "What is happening inside of me before I respond to my child?" Julie also shares accessible tools you can begin using right away, including the "three H's" the importance of family rituals, and how to regulate your own nervous system so your children can borrow emotional stability from you. Whether you're a parent, educator, caregiver, or someone working to heal your own generational patterns, this episode offers grounded wisdom and hope. Because the generation gap isn't the problem it's the invitation.
