We also discuss the conundrum that artists sometimes face when faced with a large piece of work and how to overcome that.

Jonathan Cape and Comica, together with The Observer run a graphic short story prize each year, giving the winner the chance to see their work in print and win £1,000.

The deadline for entry is Friday 10th December 2021
