The timeline is broken, Sarah Connor knows too much, and apparently even the Terminator franchise has decided to rewrite its own history! Terminator Genisys takes the familiar Terminator mythology and throws it into an alternate timeline where absolutely nothing is quite what we remember.

In this R Rating movie review, we dive into Terminator Genisys, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, and Jason Clarke. We’ll discuss the film’s time-travelling story, its alternate take on Sarah Connor and John Connor, the return of the T-800, and the decision to completely remix some of the franchise’s most iconic moments.

We’ll also look at the action, visual effects, performances, humour, callbacks to the original movies, and whether all the timeline twists actually work—or just make an already complicated franchise even more confusing.

Does Terminator Genisys successfully reinvent the Terminator timeline, or does it prove that some timelines are better left alone? And most importantly… is Arnold still enough to save the franchise?
