Collette Jacobs is a canine behaviour specialist who helps owners create lasting behaviour change through understanding the “why” behind their dog’s behaviour.

Her journey into canine behaviour began with her two dogs, who had some challenging behaviours leaving her overwhelmed and frustrated.

Building on what she learnt from a behavioural expert, Collette built a structured and implementation-focused approach to her work with owners to improve communication, consistency, and everyday life with their dogs.

As with most reasons to start a business, Collette used her experience to change the way she viewed canine behaviour and it sparked a deep passion for understanding the relationship between dogs, their environment, and the people around them.

It ultimately led her retraining professionally to help other owners move from confusion and frustration to clarity, understanding, and lasting change with their own dogs. Alongside behaviour work, Collette also integrates owner regulation support through Kinesiology, recognising the important connection between human wellbeing and canine behaviour.

Her business is: Hounds n Harmony and it turns '10' today - 01 October 2026.

What are some practical tips, tools, or mindset shifts you’d love to share with our listeners?

Keep curious. Keep learning — by making it a daily end-of-day review.

At the end of each day, take 3 minutes and answer these three prompts:

What did I learn today? (about my work, my people, my customers, or myself)

What assumption did I challenge? (or what surprised me?)

What’s one small adjustment I’ll make tomorrow? (a decision, a boundary, a conversation, a simplification)

If you use AI, add one line: “Where did AI help, and where did I need human judgement?”

That’s it. Small, consistent learning compounds — and it keeps you steady when everything feels noisy.
