Geothermal energy, once known to be localized in certain geographical regions, has expanded its capacity with advanced drilling techniques. Unlike solar and wind, geothermal is not reliant on day-night cycles, weather conditions, or seasons. It can generate electricity 24/7 and provide what is called "baseload" power – a key component for a stable power grid. Join me as I discuss this growing power generation technology with Kristina Hagström-Ilievska and Gabriella Skog of Baseload Capital.

-Clean, firm, flexible, secure, minimal footprint baseload power generation
-Conventional geothermal versus next generation EGS (Enhanced Geothermal Systems)
-We get into technical side of Geothermal 101 around 10:57
-Fracking in the system to enhance geothermal recovery
-MW outputs associated with pilot plants and future commercial power outputs
-Standardization in exploration, community work, and in design how it transfers into the balance of plant
-Hold ups associated with geothermal advancements – permitting!
-Going from drilling for oil and gas to drilling for power generation, transitioning workforces

What is Energy Policy and why is it so important to promote clean energy innovation? I had no idea how important energy policy was in the background of my day to day job supporting project decision making. From technologies like nuclear to carbon removals and beyond, there are several policies in place to help support their development further. Niko McMurry with Clear Path delivers insight on what energy policy is and why it is so important to promote the energy transition.

-Energy policy are sets of rules principles and guidelines, but how do we pull the policy makers together to create the ones best fit for goals
-Importance of Engineering Firms and Project Developers to help set the expectations around policy
-How current policy drives technology deployment
-How the upcoming election will shake up the current clean energy policies
-Supporting policy is the key to reduce emissions thorough innovative technologies
-Policy to address regulatory barriers
-Climate Policy vs. Energy Policy
-Energy policy to support national security along with reliable, affordable and clean energy production

Are you curious about how successful oil and gas personnel are adopting nuclear? Listen here to find out.

Doug Robison, CEO of Natura Resources is a third-generation oil and gas leader now taking his pioneering spirit into the nuclear sector. Natura Resources is advancing development of molten salt reactors in the USA. In this conversation, we levelized the current innovation we are seeing similar to that of what we saw with hydraulic fracturing in the early 2000s and look what that did for our energy independence and security! Now let’s continue to drive clean power generation into this innovation. Join us as we discuss the below:

-How simulation of the Permian basin regulation advancements for drilling to support the oil and gas industry 20 years ago can impact our implementation of advanced nuclear
-What Natura Resources goals are with a Molten Salt Reactor and project status
-Empowering the nuclear workforces of the future
-Deploying a commercial reactor and the phases it takes to get there – running the research reactor and commercial designs in tandem
-Prioritization of power to customers versus data centers
-How do we stabilize the grid and deliver dispatchable power
