Eat The Pudding: A Simpsons Podcast Episode 17: “Haw-Haw!” Welcome to the Eat The Pudding fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the Simpsons universe in all its colourful and cromulent forms. This is the seventeenth episode: “Haw-Haw!”. In the first regular episode since our Simpsons Movie extravaganza, we dive into our mailbag to share listener feedback, answer questions and crowbar in more Queen references that might be considered seemly by an unbiased observer. We also revisit Michael’s second pick from Season 8, Mountain Of Madness, which boasts more Mr Burns per minute than almost any other episode we can think of. This episode’s Spotlight On Springfield examines the complex character that is Nelson Muntz: school bully, unwilling lover, avant-garde moralist and Andy Williams fanboy. Drawing on a handful of cherry-picked episodes, we look at his character development, his relationship with Lisa Simpson and peek ahead at what the future might hold for him. Eat The Pudding: A Simpsons Podcast

    Bonus Episode: “The Simpsons Movie”

Welcome to the Eat The Pudding fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the Simpsons universe in all its colourful and cromulent forms. This is a bonus episode: “The Simpsons Movie”.

This week, we are changing things up a little with a bonus episode on The Simpsons Movie, which came out in the summer of 2007. And we are joined by our very own Sideshow Mel, Melissa C from Montreal – a Simpsons superfan with a divinely dusty Italian accent.

Together with our special guest, we look at the background to the movie, recall other popular shows that translated well – or less well – to the silver screen and revisit our favourite moments in the movie.

  • "Guilty As Charged"
    Sep 14 2026
Eat The Pudding: A Simpsons Podcast Episode 16: “Guilty As Charged” Welcome to the Eat The Pudding fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the Simpsons universe in all its colourful and cromulent forms. This is the sixteenth episode: “Guilty As Charged”. This week’s Spotlight On Springfield is on a man with big shoes to fill: Sideshow Bob, arguably the most cultivated person in Springfield and, with the possible exception of Maggie Simpson, the most psychopathic. We trace the velvet-voiced villain’s evolution in a series of evergreen Bob-centric episodes and ask ourselves why the authorities insist on letting him out of prison every season. As part of our Late Bloomers segment, we dip a tentative toe into the murky waters of late-period Simpsons with a Season 24 episode called To Cur With Love. As well as this, we pay tribute to recently departed country music queen Dolly Parton and discuss the lacklustre episode she guest-starred in and what we would have done better. But, as ever, no one bothered to ask us our opinion and now it’s too late.
