Fear isn’t just an idea — it’s a body system. In this episode I map what happens when your brain perceives threat: sensory data gets flagged, the amygdala lights up, and your nervous system enacts a stress response that wants you to freeze, flee, or fight. But not every alarm is real. I unpack F.E.A.R. {False Evidence Appearing Real }and show how understandable misfires keep us small, reactive, and exhausted.
I bring in my work as a Licensed Massage Therapist (Thai, Deep Tissue, Lomi Lomi trained) and how somatic awareness helped me recognize when my body was still completing old alarms. Then I share personal stories: the spiral of “do my friends hate me?”, the heat of road rage, and other everyday triggers - to show the difference between real danger and perceived threat.
You’ll get:
- A clear, accessible nervous-system breakdown so fear stops feeling mysterious
- The F.E.A.R. reframing and why naming it helps
- Practical tools to complete the stress response and regulate (breath-based, grounding, and somatic micro-practices you can use anywhere)
- A mindset shift that changed everything for me: moving from “How could you do this to me?” (victim) to a calmer stance - “You’re doing a great job playing that role, and it’s not a role I’ll keep in my life” - which restored my power and inner peace by recognizing that other people’s behavior often isn’t about us
This episode is for late bloomers and survivors who are done being palatable and ready to alchemize the wreckage into fuel. If you’re tired of being hijacked by old alarms, I’ll meet you with compassion, clear physiology, and tools you can try immediately.
