This is the podcast’s first episode in English. Aiesha talks about how vitiligo, a skin condition which causes the skin to lose pigmentation, has shaped her view on self-love and acceptance. Her journey has led her to founding Born to Rise, a nonprofit which fosters a community of changemakers through storytelling. In this episode, Aiesha also talks about topics ranging from bullying and sports a a mean youth development and community-building, to navigating trauma and the emancipation of Black communities (notably through Blvk Klas, a platform which amplifies the voices of melanated voices through storytelling).Aiesha Robinson: https://instagram.com/aiesharobinson_?igshid=1u88djlrlci0wBorn to Rise: https://instagram.com/borntorise.mtl?igshid=1am4d6xa8tp7iBlvk Klas: https://instagram.com/blvck.klas?igshid=1j6n70z5arzlwEffrontées, by Christine Renaud: https://www.lesmalins.ca/fr/livre/jeunesse/1569-effrontees.htmlUntil We Are Free, offered by Librairies Racines: https://librairieracines.com/products/until-we-are-free-reflections-on-black-lives-matter-in-canada?_pos=1&_sid=c84840e0a&_ss=r   Editions les malins Effrontées - Livres jeunesse québécois | Éditions Les Malins (30 kB) https://www.lesmalins.ca/DATA/PRODUITIMAGE/466.jpg   LibrairieRacines Until we are free reflections on black lives matter in canada The killing of Trayvon Martin in 2012 by a white assailant inspired the Black Lives Matter movement, which quickly spread outside the borders of the United States.
