Gloucester Prison is one of the most unsettling haunted locations in the UK, built on centuries of punishment, suffering, and death.

Before it became the prison we know today, this site was part of Gloucester Castle, where prisoners were held in grim conditions for hundreds of years.

After closing its doors for good in 2013, Gloucester Prison has quickly developed a reputation for being haunted. Shadow figures flit in the corner of your eyes, and doors slam with no explanation. But there’s one particular ghost story that may need a closer look…

Deep in Central London, there’s a royal palace that has been at the centre of British history for almost 500 years… and according to dozens of witnesses, not all of its residents have left.

St James’s Palace is still an incredibly important place to the British monarchy, but below the pageantry, lies a 19th Century scandal that left one man dead, under deeply suspicious circumstances…

Ever since, people have reported unexplained presences in its corridors, but the paranormal activity doesn’t stop there. The surrounding royal park carries its own dark legends, and even next door in Clareence House, the current London home of King Charles and Queen Camilla, the ghost stories continue.

The Garrick’s Head pub and the Theatre Royal in the city of Bath have some interesting stories about a mysterious Grey Lady ghost, who has been seen on both sides of the building.

Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire is a stunning visitor attraction, where you can spend the day out admiring the Robert Adam architecture and 18th-century furnishings.

But the history of this sprawling estate is even more fascinating. It’s been owned by the Curzon family for almost 900 years… so it comes as no surprise that it’s picked up more than a few ghosts over the years.
