We take another day trip with our friends Rob and Sovi, but this time we're spending the day at Santa Fe for Sovi's birthday! It's a resort in Sosúa that has a quite reasonably-priced day pass, especially during the week. If you're looking for good spot to eat, drink, dance and chill, don't let this one pass you by. Thanks again (and again!) to Sovi & Rob! Happy birthday, Sovi!We love tips! Our friends Rob and Sovi are back to take us to Playa Paraiso! This beach is beyond picturesque, and on a weekday afternoon it was virtually empty. Whether you're retired, nomadic, or on vacation, this is a great spot for a Wednesday. Probably the other days, too!The seafood paella was very tasty, and we both ate it for lunch and dinner that day. So although it was about US$45, that's actually a bargain. Dominicated is accepting donations on behalf of Alia's Dog Training & Rescue. One of our closets is filling up with clothes to sell at the next pulga, but we'll always take more! We're back with Alia's Dog Training & Rescue for the next step after the pulga fundraiser. Now it's time for the pop-up animal clinic, using donations to subsidize sterilization of 42 cats and dogs! It was very cool to have such a revealing look behind the scenes, and to see just how well-organized an event it is. A big thank you to everyone who has donated, and a special thank you to the anonymous donors who provided all-new, great quality children's clothing and shoes. If you would like to make a donation, you can reach out to Alia's Dog Training & Rescue on Facebook or Instagram:IG: AliasDogTraining | FB: Alia's Dog Training & RescueDominicated will also accept donations on Alia's behalf. Our friends Rob & Sovi are back a second time with a new property to show us. This time, in addition to sharing more of their real estate insights and expertise, they show us a couple other local spots you can enjoy. Goat tacos and a secret beach? Yes, please! Sovi provides a different Palabra del Dia this time, and also explains the difference between a day mango and a night mango. If you're interested in these properties or are interested in working with Sovi & Rob, send us an email (dominicatedpodcast@gmail.com) or a DM on IG: (at)DominicatedPodcast and we'll set it up.Some of the locations we mentioned are MJ's Seaside Pub, Hard Rock Cafe, and Wings And Waffle, all located in Sosúa. Goat tacos enjoyed at The Waterfront Playa Alicia Restaurant, also in Sosúa.We love tips! Join us for a local fundraiser to benefit the local animals! Alia's Dog Training & Rescue hosts a pulga (flea market) to help subsidize neuter/spay costs for low income homes. Alia also helps with other pet needs, such as rescue, boarding, and adoption. Recently she even helped with transport for multiple animals traveling to Canada. Such a superstar! We also look at a bunch of fish and our old friend, Ralph, found his way back to us. Kris' dentist provides La Palabra del Día.

Join us on a trip 'next door' to Puerto Rico! Now that we're so close by, but also in a different country, the comparison between Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic is very different than when when we visited from New York. Be serenaded by Popi's harmonica, witness the 'posture incorrector' hammock, salivate over the best empanadas in northwest Puerto Rico, and marvel at the wonders of a Walgreens! So does the 'Isla del Encanto' have the edge? Or does DR truly 'Tiene Todo'? Of course it's not that simple...

Join us for a day trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic to see the last day of Carnival (or Carnaval in Spanish) 2026! Our tour guide, Marcos, takes us to a number of spots in Puerto Plata, including a cigar factory, a chocolate shop, Pink Street, Umbrella Street, and concluding at el Malecón to watch the parade. Marcos provides the Palabra del Día. Also a gorilla dances for beer...you'll see. We love tips! We talk to friends Rob & Sovi about their real estate insights and see two of their properties, right next to a great beach. We would like to buy something ourselves in the future, so it was a good day, both visually for informational purposes. We had never see much of East Cabarete before. Sovi provides the Palabra del Dia this time. If you're interested in these properties or are interested in working with Sovi & Rob, send us an email (dominicatedpodcast@gmail.com) or a DM on IG: @DominicatedPodcast and we'll set it up.We love tips!
