In this message, we introduce a new series centered on discovering the God Jesus knows—a journey shaped by the recognition that all of us bring baggage, background, and false narratives into our understanding of God. Drawing from Matthew 11 and the life and words of Jesus, this sermon explores why Jesus is the clearest and most trustworthy revelation of who God truly is, challenging common misconceptions of God as angry, distant, disappointed, or unforgiving. By examining how family, cultural, and religious narratives shape our view of God, we’re invited to let the Jesus narrative take priority, revealing a God who is both holy and near, majestic and loving. This series will walk through key characteristics of God—good, trustworthy, generous, loving, holy, self-sacrificing, and transforming—while pairing each week with spiritual practices designed not just to reshape how we think about God, but how we respond to Him.
