Sally bought a box containing personal papers, diaries, and photos that had belonged to a woman named Betty Myers. Betty had been the girlfriend/lover of a man named John Paisley who had worked for the CIA. In 1978 John disappeared from his boat while out sailing in Chesapeake Bay. A body was recovered a week later with a bullet hole in the back of the head. The CIA quickly ruled the body to be John's, and suicide as the cause of death. Investigations followed and what happened after that only made things more confusing and mysterious. So what really happened to John? What's in the box of Betty's things?

In these upcoming episodes you will hear theories, discussions, and discoveries regarding the mystery surrounding John's disappearance. And believe us, this is movie worthy stuff.

In this episode we look back at the last five years of our podcast journey before we dive into our next project-- the CIA murder/suicide mystery story of John Paisley. For #69, we share some of our favorite episodes and how these stories have impacted our lives. We also share the backstory of a "heated" disagreement between eachother as we produced an episode. Don't worry-- it all ended up fine and we still like eachother!

This episode will take you to two iconic National Parks and a bonus trip to the summit of Pikes Peak! Beautifully written entries by Alexander Davidson, a traveling preacher and singer, will make you feel as if you were there with him. His visit in 1905 was in an era when the Parks were far more untamed than present day. Transportation was much slower, guest services far less refined, boundaries less established, but the natural wonders and beauty were there to be seen and experienced by those brave enough to visit!
