Beyond Savannah’s famous haunted landmarks are darker stories most visitors never hear. In Episode 7, Chris Allen explores five lesser-known hauntings, from Oatland Island’s former hospital and Mary Telfair’s final warning to phantom railroad workers, restless soldiers, and the forgotten dead beneath the city.

Savannah’s Marshall House has welcomed travelers since 1851, but not every guest may have checked out. Join host Chris Allen as he explores the hotel’s history as a yellow fever hospital and Civil War medical ward, along with chilling reports of wounded soldiers, ghostly children, running faucets, and human remains allegedly discovered beneath the floorboards.

Echoes of the South: The Keeper of the Light

In this evocative episode of Echoes of the South, historian and paranormal researcher Chris Allen ascends the spiral stairs of the St. Augustine Lighthouse, a place where history and haunting share the same flickering flame. For more than a century, its beam has cut through the dark Atlantic night, guiding sailors home—and, some say, illuminating the shadows of those who never left.

Through the tragic stories of the lighthouse keepers and their families, the mysterious accidents, and the chilling encounters reported by investigators, this episode reveals how love, duty, and loss have etched themselves into the walls of the tower. From the laughter of lost children to the silhouette seen high upon the railing, The Keeper of the Light explores not just the ghosts of the past, but the enduring devotion that binds them to the living.

It is a story of light and darkness, of echoes carried on sea wind, and of the human spirit’s refusal to fade.
