We missed our flight after construction delays and a full airport garage. At Delta in Detroit, I was told we’d need to buy new tickets—but applying for a Delta Gold Amex would get us on the next flight for free.
I applied, thinking I was getting help saving our girls’ trip. Later, a Delta employee in Orlando told me the application shouldn’t have been necessary to get us rebooked.
This is my experience, and I’d like Delta to clarify what our options actually were. I was stressed, trusted the explanation, and left feeling misled.
