Welcome to Daily Gathering.
In today's gathering, we continue our journey through Dabarym (Deuteronomy) Chapters 24–27.
Today's reading continues Mashah's instructions concerning life among Yashar'Al, including marriage and divorce, lending, wages, justice for the stranger, fatherless, and widow, and leaving portions of the harvest for those in need. Instructions are also given concerning disputes, the responsibility of a brother to preserve his brother's family line, honest weights and measures, and remembering what Amalak did to Yashar'Al along the way. As the people prepare to enter the land, they are commanded to bring the firstfruits before Yahuah and declare how He brought them out of Matsrayim and gave them the land. Mashah then instructs Yashar'Al to write the words of the Torah on stones after crossing the Yardan. The reading concludes at Mount Garazym and Mount Aybal, where the tribes are appointed for blessing and cursing, and the Luym proclaim a series of curses to which all the people answer, “Aman.”
Daily Gathering is a journey through the Scriptures—cover to cover, one day at a time. Whether this is your first journey through the Scriptures or your fiftieth, you're welcome here.
