Welcome to Daily Gathering.
In today's gathering, we continue our journey through Dabarym (Deuteronomy) Chapters 17–20.
Today's reading begins with instructions concerning acceptable sacrifices, idolatry, witnesses, and judgments too difficult for local courts. Mashah then gives instructions concerning a future king of Yashar'Al, including that he is to write for himself a copy of the Thurah and read from it all the days of his life. The reading continues with provisions for the priests and Luym and warnings against the practices of the nations, including divination, sorcery, and consulting the dead. Yahuah promises to raise up a prophet from among their brothers, and instructions are given for discerning a prophet who speaks presumptuously. Mashah then establishes cities of refuge and instructions concerning boundaries and witnesses. The reading concludes with laws concerning warfare, including those excused from battle, the offering of peace to certain cities, and instructions for preserving fruit trees during a siege.
