  • DawgmanRadio: Analyzing the craziness that is the transfer portal
    Jan 19 2026
The guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund - broke down Washington's portal business now that the end day to enter the transfer portal has come and gone (January 16). Scott did a fantastic job of breaking down how Washington approached this portal cycle, their process, positions of need identified, and how well they achieved balance in those positions in his latest recruiting blog. To start, Scott added some context to his blog thoughts and they talked about any UW players entering the portal Scott was surprised about. And there were a few. After a quick break, the guys talk about any other portal entries that may have seen the 'writing on the wall' and used that as their rationale for entering the portal. To finish out, the guys talk about the 9 portal signings that Jedd Fisch already spoke on this past week, and how well they addressed need. And could the Huskies actually sign more high school players for the 2026 recruiting class? The start date for the regular 2026 prep signing window starts on Wednesday, February 4. • EMERGENCY POD: Demond Williams is Back!
    Jan 9 2026
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got together shortly after Demond Williams announced his return to Washington, followed closely by public statements made by UW Head Coach Jedd Fisch and UW AD Pat Chun. They go through the statements, give their initial thoughts on not just the statements but the last 48 hours, and what they think will happen now. Did Demond simply 'see the light' after conversations with Fisch and others, or was it a case of finding out he wasn't nearly as attractive a transfer candidate based on the toxic nature of how events unfolded? And in the end, does any of that matter? And is this a situation where, because Williams simply returned where he came from, everything is good and things go back to status quo? Or will this story end up being a test case to catalyze serious change to the way contracts are drafted and enforced? The guys hash all that out and give their final thoughts on what this means for UW going forward, not just as a program, but also specifically at quarterback because they are still in a situation where they could use another experienced quarterback to back Williams up like Kai Horton did last season.
