My guest today started her career in sales and marketing where she quickly became an accomplished seller, tripling quotas and breaking sales targets  across media and agribusiness sectors. Ever keen to break into the world of tech, she eventually landed her first opportunity at Microsoft on the Azure cloud strategy and digital acquisition group. She of course continued to break records till she recently had the opportunity to focus her tech interests in automation and AI & Ops at IBM. Join me for a conversation with the amazing Sheena Wildenhaus.

We are joined today by Omenaa Boakye who started her career working as a stylist for sets like CBS to home and lifestyle extraordinaire Martha Stewart and a host of renowned brands including Amazon, Saks, Macy’s and L’Oreal to name a few. The fashion polymath that she is, she has also worked as a fashion journalist writing for publications like InStyle to The Times in the UK. She has always been fascinated by the intersection of digital and tech with the world of fashion. She takes us on her journey to tech, and how her creative background and experiences have become a valuable perspective in the digital world as a product designer and user experience researcher for Adobe.

Peace started her academic journey in geology and geosciences going on to later complete an advanced degree in the field at the Texas A&M university. Her work experiences had hovered around the oil and gas sector working as an upstream analyst for BP to investment banking as a financial analyst for Goldman Sachs. Today, she has found herself at the intersection of a data rich environment that has leveraged all of these experiences and her domain knowledge masterfully. Working as a technical product manager at S&P global - an intelligence company focussed on an array of data products, she is focussed on the upstream North American division dealing with intelligent insights for commodities. 

Wuraola is a Pharmacy graduate turned AI researcher, data scientist and technical trainer. She currently teaches concepts around tech, the internet and computers as a LinkedIn instructor and more recently expanded this in one of the most scholastically studied languages in West Africa called Yoruba. She is currently a Data science researcher at Imperial College in London and shares her thoughts on the power of tech and the internet in transforming lives.

Aniekan is a Computer Science graduate. First from the university of Uyo in Nigeria and then currently as an advanced degree candidate at the University of Denver in the USA. Even with her technical academic background she almost opted out of the field completely, until an internship experience where she happened to work in close proximity with the data team. She began to see roles beyond the standard developer/engineer and the opportunities possible especially within the world of data. She is currently completing an internship with Microsoft as a Data Scientist and also runs a personal blog herself

Eniola Alese is a research scientist turned machine learning engineer. She began her journey into engineering with an electrical engineering degree from Covenant university in Nigeria before moving to Canada to complete a masters in Engineering Design. She currently works at Google as a machine learning engineer, whilst also running her very own content platform online educating and enriching others on her journey and how to level up in tech.

She now working as a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon and shares her journey that it is possible even for junior's without traditional tech backgrounds to make the leap to FANGs!
