  • Sheep and Goats (Parables of the Bible 4c)
    Oct 15 2026

Matthew 25 has two parables and another story about judgment. All three of them need to be taken together in order to understand. So, in the midst of the series on Parables of the Bible, we present a mini-series on Matthew 25. In the last of the three episodes we will look at the Sheep and the Goats. Co-hosts Austin and Caleb consider how this "parable" (maybe pseudo-parable) can be understood in context, as a true story, as an allegory, and metaphorically. We also consider the context and understanding of the whole chapter.

  • Matthew 18, Division, and Binding
    Sep 10 2026

It has been clearly seen for years that the church is not as well united as it ought to be. There have been plenty of divisions in the church since the Reformation, but even before then there was a major divide between the east and the west. Though not all would agree, there is good reason to see God working in many of these instances (not all divides were godly on both sides) despite having differing, sometimes even seemingly contradictory, traditions. In Matthew 18:19-20 and a few other places there is some weird wording about binding. Co-hosts Caleb and Austin explore if it might be possible that the binding language is not bound to one specific group, but possibly each group can set their own traditions that can be separately bound by God. Buckle up for a wild ride in this one!
