She built The Beauty Basement into one of the largest luxury salons in South Trinidad, runs BC Beauty Academy training the next generation of aestheticians, and somehow still found time to launch The Chunky Bunny, the frozen dessert brand nobody in Trinidad was making until she did.

In this episode, Colleen Paige goes all the way back. A friendship that started when she was nine years old. Building a business with her sister Peyton by her side. And for the first time, she opens up about something that's never been said publicly: the backlash. The comments on her prices, her desserts, her marriage. She never made the clapback video. She never went live to fight back. She just kept building.

"There's no such thing as failure." That's how she sees it, and by the end of this conversation, you'll understand why.

No filter. No script. Just real conversation.

It's the first time Kareem Wylie, CEO of Yup Life, and Shadeed Abdullah, Director, have sat down to answer questions since FOC: The Awakening was shut down by police and fire officials at Pier 2, Chaguaramas on 31 August 2026.

They get into it directly: the venue was approved for 10,000, but only around 6,500 people actually made it inside. The rest were left outside as the situation broke down at the gate. They break down what actually went wrong there, why the bottleneck happened, and whether more entry lanes would have changed the outcome. They respond to Island eTickets' claim that their system did not fail. They talk about why a free "Redemption" party was offered instead of refunds, and admit there are things they still can't speak on publicly while an investigation is ongoing.

They also open up about the other side of running Yup Life: the criticism that comes with success, why the same post that got no reaction with an old car suddenly becomes a problem with a nicer one, and what 12 years of building a business behind the scenes actually looks like.

Andell "Gio" Mark built four businesses from nothing, and this episode is the one where he finally tells the whole story behind what it took to keep them standing.

He gets into the sabotage: fake accounts made just to put his personal information out there, and an employee who was influenced to work against the business from the inside. He talks about choosing to pay his workers even when it meant falling behind on his own rent, and a landlord who tried to discredit everything he built while sitting on money he never had to earn himself. He also opens up about running his business the fully legal way — and the financial shortfalls that come with refusing to cut corners everybody else cuts.

And then there's the quieter damage: a year-old photo recycled online just to make his kitchen look unsanitary, costing him a customer who never even gave him a chance. He admits flat out, that one hurt.
