A proposito di questo titolo

Are you, like us, a little piggie at the trough of culture? Do you spend as much time talking about the rubber nipples of George Clooney’s costume in Batman & Robin as you do discussing the pantheon of potential meanings behind the latest Taylor Swift song? Maybe you like your political scandals with a side of Hollywood gaslighting? Or perhaps you're in the mood for watching an art-house classic while second screening on TikTok?

Then look no further because journalists Kate and Rory are here, and they're armed with years of experience offering commentary and critiques on all things culture and entertainment. It's a weekly wallow with two pals who'll guide you from the mineral rich pools of high-art to the lowliest puddles of entertainment culture. So if you fancy dipping a toe into the cultural trough - well then you had best dive in because our favourite piggies are tackling lowbrow things in a highbrow way, and highbrow things in a lowbrow way!

New episodes are released every Friday - so you can stock up on your scintillating, shocking and hilarious cultural commentary ahead of the weekend.

  • Coachella Reactions, Euphoria S3 Reviews & Brian Cox Goes Nuclear
    Apr 17 2026

While the regular Olympics comes once every four years, what is kindly referred to as "The Influencers Olympics" actually comes each and every April...

Yep, Coachella is upon us, and this year's trio of headliners - Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G - brought a wide variety of types of performances and stage design, which then spurred on a wide variety of reactions from those in the crowd and those watching from home.

Kate and Rory dive into the complicated mess of performers, contracts, advertising, and... exclusive polo courses (?!) to discuss why the world seems so obsessed with this particular festival.

After that, with the arrival of the third - and final - season of Euphoria this week, Rory looks through some of the more scathing reviews of the new episodes, discusses whether the show should've been left well enough alone, and how Zendaya will be the one person to survive this dumpster fire.

And then Kate brings some of the highlights of a recent interview with the much-loved Brian Cox (the Succession actor, not the renowned physicist) and how he has reached that perfect point in his life of being rich, famous, and old enough to stop carrying, and he unloads both barrels of his opinions into anyone and everyone who comes up in conversation.

  • Kanye West Banned, Universal's New Owners & Sky Ferreira Rumours
    Apr 10 2026

It has been one hell of a week, so we'll just get straight into it, shall we?

To kick off, Kate and Rory discuss the complete and total collapse of this year's Wireless Festival, which was due to be headlined for three nights by none other than Ye (formerly Kanye West). A deep dive on the festival, on Ye himself, and what could happen next that could maybe turn all of this around.

Up next, Kate discusses how music giant Universal has received a $64bn takeover offer from US investment company Pershing Square, and more specifically, its billionaire chief executive Bill Ackman. Who is that and why should we care? Well, remember when a certain Elon Musk took over Twitter? Yeah. That.

And finally, Rory gathers up all of the swirling social media rumours around Sky Ferreira and Charli XCX and their reputed controversy over using old demos, which brings us down a memory lane of famous pop songs that were originally intended for someone else...

  • Harry Potter, Spider-Man & Banksy
    Apr 3 2026

Thank you, lovely listeners, for taking the time over your Easter break, or whatever it is you might be doing this weekend, to take the time to listen to us talk about pop culture! We love you for it. Yes, you! You, specifically!

This week's big topic is none other than the return of Harry Potter. As HBO dropped the first teaser for their new adaptation of the hit series of novels, Kate and Rory look back over its decades of popularity and controversy, and maybe what's new to expect from the show... if anything?

Next up, Rory chats about the new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which recently broke just about every record that a trailer can break. Looking back over the most-watched trailers of all time, the results show some very surprising - and hopeful! - results for another big film this year...

And to close us out, Kate looks into the recent revelation about the true identity of secret artist Banksy, how it all somehow ties to much-loved Brit band Massive Attack, and whether or not this "identity" could actually just be part of Banksy's latest misdirection...?
