What would happen if humanity learned—beyond any reasonable doubt—that we aren't alone? Would people embrace the discovery? Would it transform religion? Would governments lose control of the narrative? Or, as this week's guest puts it, would people simply “lose their minds?”

On Episode 9 of the Crew One Podcast, Adam sits down with an old friend and former college football teammate, Kyle McLellan, for a conversation that starts on the football field, heads straight for the Space Coast, and eventually disappears down some of the deepest rabbit holes yet explored on the show. Kyle grew up in Palm Bay, Florida, in the heart of Florida's Space Coast, where America's space program wasn't something happening on television—it was part of the landscape. As a kid, Kyle remembers looking up and watching space shuttles climb into the sky. Members of his family worked in and around NASA and the aerospace industry, including an uncle involved with preparing the Space Shuttle for flight and another who eventually moved into private industry. Growing up around that world left an impression. Today, Kyle follows the UFO/UAP issue closely. But he's not convinced that aliens provide the best explanation for everything people are seeing. In fact, his working theory is very different. Could at least some of the extraordinary craft reported by pilots, military personnel, and ordinary witnesses actually represent highly advanced human technology hidden inside classified programs and private aerospace companies? If so, how far ahead of publicly acknowledged technology might those programs actually be?Kyle recalls a particularly intriguing comment from one of his relatives in aerospace: “They do have some crazy stuff.” But who exactly are “they”? That question launches a much bigger conversation about private aerospace, black-budget programs, government secrecy, the UFO videos released to the public, Tic Tac-shaped objects, black triangles, orbs, alleged crash-retrieval programs, “non-human biologics,” and whether the American public is ever likely to receive the complete story.

Kyle isn't an unquestioning believer. Quite the opposite. Throughout the episode, Kyle repeatedly comes back to the same answer: I don’t know.

He believes some UFOs may be made by us. He remains skeptical about ET explanations. But he also isn't prepared to say that aliens are impossible.

How do we decide what to believe when the available evidence is incomplete? And what happens when extraordinary claims collide with institutions that have already lost our trust?

Those questions carry extra weight because of Kyle’s career. After college, he spent nearly 17 years working as a paramedic before becoming a registered nurse shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic. He’s spent much of his adult life encountering people during emergencies, illness, fear, uncertainty, and some of the worst moments of their lives. So, after seeing human nature up close for all those years, how does Kyle think people would react if undeniable evidence of extraterrestrial life suddenly emerged?

His answer is immediate: “Pandemonium.”

Kyle points to the behavior he witnessed during COVID as an example of what fear and uncertainty can do to people. If shortages of ordinary household supplies could trigger panic, what would happen if people were suddenly forced to reconsider humanity’s place in the universe? Would disclosure simply be exciting? Or would it shatter people’s reality?

And can faith accommodate a universe filled with other intelligent beings? Would it destroy religious belief—or expand it? And what happens psychologically when something a person experiences directly conflicts with what they have always believed about reality?

Episode 8 of the Crew One Podcast features Kyle Knopp, a former U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant and current Department of Defense civilian employee working with the U.S. Space Force.

Kyle brings a rare perspective to the UAP conversation. He's spent years working around military aircraft, communications, navigation systems, radar, and other aerospace technology—and says that in 2017, while working at Hurlburt Field in Florida, he had a close-range encounter with a completely silent triangular craft near the flight line.

Kyle walks us through that encounter in detail: the strange sensation that first caused him to look up, three dim lights against the night sky, the enormous dark object he says was hovering just above the trees, and the surreal experience of driving directly underneath it without hearing a sound.

That encounter sent Kyle down a years-long rabbit hole. We explore his research into the alleged TR-3B, advanced propulsion concepts, the Salvatore Pais patents, magnetohydrodynamics, electromagnetic fields, and the possibility that some UFO sightings could represent technology far beyond what is publicly acknowledged. Kyle also recounts his interactions with AARO and former director Sean Kirkpatrick, his attempts to bring his story to government officials, and what journalist Ross Coulthart told him about other alleged black-triangle witnesses.

Then the conversation goes somewhere even deeper.

Kyle explains how his research led him into questions surrounding consciousness, frequency, human perception, spirituality, and whether consciousness itself could play a role in understanding the UAP phenomenon. But Kyle's decision to speak publicly may have consequences.

He says he raised concerns about asbestos and other potentially hazardous conditions at his workplace and was later informed that his YouTube activity was being investigated. Kyle says he does not know who is conducting that investigation but believes OSI could be involved. He still holds his security clearance and remains a government employee.

Kyle describes what he believes is happening in stark terms: “They’re trying to scare me to shut up.”
