In 1879, Colorado opened its first psychiatric hospital in Pueblo — a self-contained campus that would eventually house thousands of patients. Some graves in its on-site cemetery carry names. Many carry only numbers.

This week, Kai and Dad Matt head south to investigate the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo — and the security guard who heard voices coming from an empty ward in the middle of the night.

Ward C. Room 14. The door was closed. And the voices were right on the other side.

Just north of Denver, there is a road that Colorado drivers have been afraid of for decades. Riverdale Road runs through Adams County — long, flat, and dark, lined with ancient cottonwood trees that block out the sky and turn the night into a tunnel. People have been reporting strange things on this road for as long as anyone can remember.

But one legend keeps coming back more than any other. A black Camaro with no headlights. It appears out of nowhere in your rearview mirror. It matches your speed no matter how fast you drive. When you finally reach the light at the end of the road and look back—it’s gone.

Tonight Kai and Dad Matt investigate why Riverdale Road has collected so many dark stories — including the real history of violence along the road, the ancient cottonwood tree folklore, and a theory called ley lines that connects Riverdale Road to some of the other mysterious places we have already investigated this season.
