A proposito di questo titolo
Who has helped you recognise God's love through an ordinary act of kindness, courage or mercy? And could your own life offer that same encouragement to someone else? This All Saints' Day sermon at Christ Church North Adelaide explores holiness in ordinary lives. Saints are people through whom God's grace becomes visible: people who make peace, practise mercy, seek justice and keep their hearts fixed on God amid human weakness and suffering. Drawing on Jesus' teaching in the Beatitudes and the vision of a diverse multitude gathered before God in Revelation, the sermon widens our sense of belonging. The communion of saints embraces people across nations, cultures and generations, including the living and the departed. Christian unity allows differences to remain, while the holiness of one person can strengthen and encourage others. This vision also gives us a way to remember those who have shaped our lives. Some were quiet and unassuming; some carried heavy burdens. Their example invites gratitude and a renewed attention to God's work in the world around us. Christian hope directs us towards resurrection and the renewal of God's world. Take a moment to remember someone who gave you hope, showed you peace or helped you recognise God's love. Give thanks for them, and consider one practical way you might offer mercy, justice or encouragement to another person this week. Recorded at the All Saints' Day Eucharist at Christ Church North Adelaide on 1 November 2026.
