Alastair talks about his experiences travelling across the world and the people he met along the way, making friends for life and forming Convoi Exceptionnel. On his journey Alastair kept notes and a journal of his experiences, places he visited and people he met, and upon returning the UK converted these into a book, detailing his journey in the Mongol Rally 2018. . You can buy the book on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Convoi-Exceptionnel-Mongol-Rally-Adventure/dp/1527239543/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-p13n1_0?crid=3V4ESZ583SFOU&cv_ct_cx=convoi+exceptionnel&dchild=1&keywords=convoi+exceptionnel&pd_rd_i=1527239543&pd_rd_r=8e19869f-fbb5-44d3-8c7a-b1ef91b70d13&pd_rd_w=g6fko&pd_rd_wg=sgyVa&pf_rd_p=49535b66-f5c7-451e-8137-28786d545ec4&pf_rd_r=K62AQ3MET74ZSEE086FA&psc=1&qid=1600161988&sprefix=convoi+ex%2Caps%2C870&sr=1-1-fdbae751-0fa5-4c0f-900b-865654896618 . "A group of scruffy lunatics and their under powered but valiant vehicles navigate ⅓ of the globe, attempting a journey conceived by people who have heard of the words ‘stupid’ and ‘dangerous’ but haven’t really understood their meaning. Setting off from various points across the globe. Teams: Away From Keyboard, Don’t Smell My Shoes, Two Fake Yanks and a Scot, Rally McRally Face, Mini Adventurers and Cunning Stunts unite to create Convoi Exceptionnel Could a Mongol Rally Convoy be better named? The convoy was largely formed in Calais UK where the aforementioned lunatics easily spotted each other via their glorious car decorations which included smelly old shoes and garden gnomes among others. Little did the people in this blossoming group know of the horrors and wonders, the friendships and hardships that lay before them as they attempted to drive through 19 countries, over 10,000 miles to Mongolia. The journey was long and perilous but they were Exceptionnel."
