This conversation revolves around the intimate connection between loving the Lord our God, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

There is a delicate balance that the guys strike in this conversation making sure that we do not fall into the trap of thinking that we merit our salvation based on our works, but instead how our works of love and charity flow out of our status of being sheep of the Good Shepherd.

This conversation revolves around the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30, where Jesus talks about a master who gives different amounts of money to different servants. So, the guys have a conversation about how God has blessed each person with unique kinds of gifts "according to his/her ability."

This is not something that we should worry about or complain about, or find ourselves getting competitive over. God has uniqued gifted each person differently for the particular places and people that he has those people living. Even at the return of Jesus, when everything is made perfect again, there will still be different gifts, abilities, even authority structures. It's just that we'll be content with the arrangement.

So, how do we put those things into practice even now while we wait for Jesus' return?
