Coming out as gay was not an event for Pat. His family and friends did not get an announcement and their acceptance of who he was as a person invariably gave him the confidence, yet he shares how society still has an invisible judgement that is not seen but felt. Shaun’s experience of coming out was difficult, forcing him to face his limiting beliefs in order to be Pat’s parner.
