It’s another unapologetically REAL episode of Cold World w/ DVJ & Michelle — and this one covers a LOT of ground.

We kick things off with a conversation about racial stereotypes — and we don't hold back. Black, White, Latino, Asian and other stereotypes get put on the table as we talk about where these ideas come from, why stereotypes can be dangerous, and how race continues to shape the way people see one another.

Then we get into Milwaukee politics and the results of the governor’s primary, including David Crowley’s extremely close victory over Francesca Hall. DVJ talks about why he supported Crowley from the beginning, why he was prepared to support Francesca if she had won, and why Democrats need to stop tearing each other down once the primary is over. We also talk about voter turnout, formerly incarcerated voters getting their rights back, staying consistent, and why every vote matters as Wisconsin heads toward the next election.

And then things take a MUCH darker turn.

We listen to a parole hearing involving a man accused of multiple violations, including new criminal charges, substance-related violations and other parole conditions. DVJ breaks down what he's hearing as the proceeding unfolds — including the man's explanation of what happened.

The conversation then moves into racism on social media, including disturbing comments made about the death of a young man in a motorcycle accident — and the heartbreaking moment when his mother revealed that the person being mocked was her son.

And because this is Cold World, we don't stay serious the entire time. 😂

We break down a disturbing case involving five command-level West Palm Beach police officers who were fired following an internal investigation into alleged overlapping paid assignments and department hours. The investigation reportedly uncovered 155 timesheet overlaps and nearly $37,000 in overlapping assignments. We talk about accountability, loopholes, and whether the rules really apply equally to everyone.

Then we're back to Wisconsin politics, including the governor's race, the Democratic primary, David Crowley, Francesca Hong, political infighting, old social-media posts, and why criticizing a candidate is different from completely tearing down someone you're planning to support.
