    Why did God create humanity? And if the Bible says we were created for His glory, does that make God egotistical?

    In this thought-provoking episode, we wrestle with one of the most fundamental questions in Christian theology and philosophy: What is the purpose of human existence?

    While studying the Bible, I encountered the striking declaration of Isaiah 43:7: humanity was created for God's glory. Rather than finding the answer satisfying, I found it deeply unsettling. If God created humanity to glorify Him, does that make Him vain or self-obsessed?

    That question led me to an objection often raised against the Christian conception of God: Is divine glory merely God's demand for endless praise and adulation? The objection becomes even more interesting when we encounter C.S. Lewis, who once expressed a similarly provocative criticism of the Christian doctrine of divine glory—before eventually becoming a Christian himself and one of Christianity's most influential apologists.

    In this episode, I explore that tension through C.S. Lewis's theological writings and insights from John Piper's Astonished by God, particularly Lewis's Reflections on the Psalms.
