CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRT - THE SERVANT & THE MASTER (CLRTTSTM)

    The Servant & The Master

“The Servant and the Master” can be understood as a relationship between one who serves and one who leads, commands, or possesses authority. Spiritually, it can also represent the relationship between the human being and God, the ego and the higher Self, or desire and wisdom.

    1. The Master

    The Master represents:

    • Authority and leadership
    • Wisdom and knowledge
    • Direction and purpose
    • Discipline and responsibility
    • The one who gives instruction or guidance

In a spiritual sense, the Master can symbolise God, Truth, Higher Consciousness, or Divine Wisdom.

    2. The Servant

    The Servant represents:

    • Humility
    • Willingness to help
    • Commitment and dedication
    • Obedience to what is right
    • Compassion and service to others

Being a servant does not necessarily mean being inferior. True service can be an expression of strength, humility and love.

    3. The Spiritual Meaning

The relationship can be understood as:

The Master provides the direction; the Servant puts that direction into practice.

For example, if wisdom is the Master, then action becomes the Servant. Wisdom tells you what is right, while service expresses that wisdom through your behaviour.

    4. The Paradox

There is an important spiritual paradox:

The greatest Master may become the greatest Servant.

A genuine leader does not simply demand service from others. They can lead through serving others. This is particularly associated with the teachings and example of Jesus, where leadership is connected with humility and service.

    5. The Inner Master & Inner Servant

You can also look at this psychologically:

Master = higher wisdom, awareness and consciousness
Servant = thoughts, emotions, body and actions

The goal is not necessarily to destroy the “servant,” but to bring your actions into alignment with your deepest wisdom.

    In simple terms:

    The Master knows the way.
    The Servant walks the way.
    The Master gives wisdom.
    The Servant embodies wisdom.
True mastery expresses itself through service.

This connects strongly with “Know Thyself,” selflessness, spiritual silence and the idea that the teacher and the taught are not ultimately separate.

  • #CLRT - THE TEACHER IS THE TAUGHT (CLRTTTITT)
    Sep 2 2026

    CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TEACHINGS (CLRT)

E17 - #CLRT - THE TEACHER IS THE TAUGHT (CLRTTTITT)

CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRT - THE TEACHER IS THE TAUGHT (CLRTTTITT)

    “The Teacher Is the Taught”

“The teacher is the taught” is a profound spiritual and philosophical idea, strongly associated with Jiddu Krishnamurti. It means that when we teach or guide another person, we are simultaneously learning through the experience ourselves.

Rather than seeing the relationship as:

    Teacher → teaches → student

    it becomes:

    Teacher ↔ Learner

Both people are participating in the same process of discovery.

    1. The Teacher Learns From the Student

When you teach someone, their questions, experiences, difficulties and perspectives can reveal things about yourself that you may not have noticed.

For example, a person may ask you:

“Why am I afraid of change?”

As you explore the question with them, you may recognise your own relationship with fear and change.

Therefore, the person you are teaching becomes your teacher.

    2. Teaching Is Not Simply Giving Knowledge

The phrase challenges the traditional idea that the teacher possesses all the knowledge while the student knows nothing.

Instead, both can observe, question, explore and discover together.

The teacher does not necessarily say:

“I know the truth, and I will give it to you.”

    Instead:

    “Let us investigate this together.”

    3. The Teacher Must Also Observe Themselves

A genuine teacher continually observes their own:

    • Thoughts
    • Emotions
    • Beliefs
    • Assumptions
    • Reactions
    • Judgements
    • Fears
    • Attachments
    • Behaviour

The teaching relationship therefore becomes an opportunity for self-knowledge.

    4. The Student Reflects the Teacher

Sometimes another person's behaviour can act like a mirror.

If you become frustrated because someone is not listening, you can ask:

“Why am I reacting this way?”

The situation can reveal something about your own expectations, attachment or assumptions.

Thus, the student can help the teacher understand themselves.

    5. There Is No Psychological Separation

At a deeper level, “the teacher is the taught” points toward the possibility of learning without psychological authority.

There can still be differences in experience, knowledge and responsibility, but neither person needs to create an identity of:

“I am the one who knows, and you are the one who doesn't.”

Instead, there is shared observation and inquiry.

    6. Connection With “Know Thyself”

The principle can be understood as:

Teaching others becomes a pathway to knowing yourself.

When you help someone explore compassion, fear, anger, attachment, suffering, freedom or awareness, you are also invited to examine those things within yourself.

    7. Connection With Spiritual Silence

From a Spiritual Silence perspective, the teacher and student can become quiet together and observe what is actually happening without immediately imposing beliefs or conclusions.

    Silence allows:

    Observation → Awareness → Inquiry → Understanding → Learning

The teacher is not merely transferring information; both people are discovering through awareness.

    Simple Meaning

“The teacher is the taught” means that teaching and learning are not separate processes. In genuinely shared inquiry, the teacher learns from the student, the student learns from the teacher, and both can discover deeper understanding through observing themselves and each other.

    In one sentence:
When you teach another person, remain humble enough to recognise that the person you are teaching may also be teaching you.

CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRT - THE SPIRITUAL CHANGE OF URGENCY IS NOW (CLRTTSCOUIN)

THE SPIRITUAL CHAGE OF URGENCY IS NOW (TSCOUIN)

The spiritual change of urgency is the immediate necessity for a radical transformation in human consciousness rather than waiting for a future moment.

    Why Urgency Matters Now

The Spiritual Present Moment: Spiritual growth and self-awareness only happen in the present, not in an indefinite future. Postponing inner work entrenches habitual patterns of delay.

Crisis in Consciousness: Global and personal crises demand a total revolution in the psyche, as outward environments mirror our internal state.
Immediate Action: Just as physical pain requires immediate attention, deep psychological conflict requires facing things as they are right now without seeking lazy escapes or postponed techniques.

  • #CLRT - NO MIND THE NO SELF SELFLESSNESS KNOW THYSELF (CLRTNMTNSSKT)

    CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TEACHINGS (CLRT)

E13 - #CLRT - NO MIND THE NO SELF SELFLESSNESS KNOW THYSELF (CLRTNMTNSSKT)

CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRT - NO MIND THE NO SELF SELFLESSNESS KNOW THYSELF (CLRTNMTNSSKT)

The phrase “No Mind, No Self, Selflessness, Know Thyself” brings together several ideas from spirituality, philosophy, meditation, and psychology. They may appear contradictory, but they can be understood as different ways of examining the nature of the self.

    1. No Mind

“No Mind” does not mean having no brain or becoming unconscious. It refers to a state in which you are not dominated by constant thinking, judgement, memories, worries, or mental narratives.

Through meditation or spiritual silence, thoughts may arise and pass without being identified with.

No Mind = Being aware without being controlled by thought.

    2. No Self

“No Self” means questioning the idea that there is a permanent, fixed and independent “I” behind all experience.

Our identity is continually changing through:

    • Thoughts
    • Emotions
    • Memories
    • Relationships
    • Experiences
    • Roles
    • Beliefs

In Buddhist philosophy, particularly anattā (non-self), the idea is that there is no permanent, unchanging self that exists independently.

No Self = Recognising that the “I” is not a fixed, permanent entity.

    3. Selflessness

Selflessness means moving beyond excessive self-centredness—such as “me, my, mine, what do I get?”—and developing compassion, generosity, humility and concern for others.

It does not mean having no personality, boundaries or sense of identity.

Selflessness = Living beyond excessive attachment to the ego.

    4. Know Thyself

“Know Thyself” traditionally points toward self-knowledge: understanding your thoughts, emotions, motivations, values, beliefs, strengths, weaknesses and patterns of behaviour.

At a deeper spiritual level, it can mean asking:

“Who am I beneath my thoughts, roles, possessions, experiences and social identity?”

This can lead to observing the difference between the awareness of experience and the contents of experience.

    How They Connect

You can understand the progression like this:

Know Thyself → Observe the Mind → Question the Self → Release Ego-Attachment → Experience Selflessness → Rest in Awareness

    There is an interesting paradox:

“Know thyself” can begin as discovering who you are, while “No self” can ultimately mean discovering that the fixed self you believed you were is not as solid or permanent as you thought.

    In Simple Terms

    Know Thyself: Understand yourself.
No Mind: Don't be ruled by your thoughts.
No Self: Question the idea of a permanent “I.”
Selflessness: Live beyond excessive ego and separation.
Spiritual Silence: Become still enough to observe all of this directly.

So, “Know Thyself” and “No Self” are not necessarily opposites. The deeper self-inquiry can begin with knowing the personality and mind, and then move toward recognising that the constructed ego is not the whole of who you are.

CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRT - SPIRITUAL AWARENESS (CLRTSA)

Spiritual awareness is the conscious realization that life extends beyond the physical and material world. It involves recognizing an inner essence or soul, feeling connected to a higher power or universal presence, and observing your thoughts and emotions without letting them control you.

    Core Meaning

Stepping out of the ego: You stop identifying with the constant stream of worries, self-judgments, and mental stories in your head.

Realizing a deeper connection: You feel a deep sense of oneness, peace, and connection to a larger, universal consciousness or something greater than yourself.

A gradual or sudden process: It can happen in an instant (like during a profound moment in nature) or unfold slowly through years of self-reflection

    Different Traditions

Universal/Mindfulness: Focusing on the present moment and letting go of ego, leading to inner calm and clarity.
Religious Views: Often described as God-consciousness, recognizing the divine presence in daily life, or understanding a spiritual reality guided by grace and faith.
