Born in Wuppertal in 1979, Lindner joined the FDP at just sixteen years old and never looked back. By twenty-one he was the youngest member of parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia's history. He rose through the ranks to become federal Secretary General of the FDP, a Bundestag member, and ultimately the man tasked with rebuilding a party that many declared politically dead after its catastrophic 2013 federal election wipeout.
