In Acts 8:26-40, the Spirit leads Philip to travel over 100 miles to share the gospel with one man, an Ethiopian eunuch. God cares about the individual. He is the God who will leave the 99 in search of the one. For us today, the Spirit will sometimes lead us to share the gospel even with strangers we encounter. Our role is to listen, trust, and obey.

Sometimes, sharing our faith with those who are so different from us can seem so daunting. In Acts 8, we see the Spirit empower Philip to share the gospel with the Samaritans who were despised by the Jewish people at the time. As we live Life in the Spirit today, He will also provide what we need when prompted by Him to share the good news with those who are who might seem so unlikely to respond.

Acts 8:12 - But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

After a great persecution broke out against the early church, Luke tells us that those who were scattered preached the word wherever they went. Life in the Spirit means that He sends us out as the church and will work in us and through us to share the gospel with people in our various spheres of influence.
