Together, they take on weekly life challenges designed to uncover limiting beliefs, improve habits, and chase down their next-level life—with a little laughter (and maybe some Midwest stubbornness) along the way.

Whether it’s waking up at 5am for a week, cutting screen time in half, or facing down long-held fears, each challenge is a chance to grow forward—and bring you with them. Because here, it’s not just about cheesy metaphors and good coffee. It’s about building a big life one bold step at a time.

  • S2E23: 6 Habits That Make Everything Else Easier
    Aug 21 2026

What if the best habits are not the ones that only solve one problem?

What if the best habits make several parts of your life easier at the same time?

In this episode of Cheese Curds & Coffee, Katie and Allen talk about six high-leverage habits that have helped them build a healthier, wealthier, happier life together.

These are not complicated life hacks or perfect routines.

They are simple habits that reduce decision fatigue, protect health, strengthen marriage, create financial margin, support career growth, and make it easier to enjoy the life they are already building.

Katie and Allen talk about how food prep changed the way they eat, spend, and plan their week. They share why annual goals and monthly check-ins became one of the most important habits in their relationship. They explain how BOGOs help decide dinner, why Allen listens to audiobooks and podcasts while working out, how fitness became one of their shared hobbies, and why dream work plus date night has become one of their favorite rhythms.

    The bigger lesson is this:

You do not need to build twenty separate habits for twenty separate problems.

You can look for the few habits that make everything else easier.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Why some habits have more leverage than others
    • How food prep saves money, supports health, and reduces decision fatigue
    • Why annual goals and monthly check-ins keep Katie and Allen on the same team
    • How planning money before it hits the bank account creates freedom instead of restriction
    • Why BOGOs help simplify meal planning
    • How listening to audiobooks and podcasts during workouts builds health and knowledge at the same time
    • Why making fitness a hobby supports health, marriage, travel, and career confidence
    • How dream work plus date night helps Katie and Allen build the future while enjoying the present
    • Why the best habits should still be good for you five years from now
    • How to choose one high-leverage habit for your own life

    This week’s challenge:

Look at your own life and ask:

What is one habit that would make more than one area of my life better?

Could one habit improve my health and my money?

Could one habit improve my relationship and my happiness?

Could one habit reduce stress and create more freedom?

Could one habit help my current self and my future self?

Do not try to overhaul your whole life this week.

    Pick one high-leverage habit.

Make it small enough to repeat.

    Keep the promise.

    Collect the proof.

  • S2E22: Why Some Dreams Come True—and Others Don’t
    Aug 13 2026

    Most of us have dreams.

Some of them become part of our real life.

Others stay in our journal for years.

    So what makes the difference?

In this episode of Cheese Curds & Coffee, Katie and Allen look back at the dreams they had nearly ten years ago — the ones that came true, the ones that changed shape, and the one that took much longer than expected.

Katie shares what her dreams looked like before CrossFit, before marriage, and before the life she has now. At the time, she wanted to lose weight, feel better in her body, and find a healthy, happy marriage. What started as a number on the scale eventually became something much bigger: a healthier identity, a stronger community, and a life built around fitness, coaching, and connection.

Allen shares his own version of that story. After divorce, financial stress, poor health, and feeling like he had hit rock bottom, his dreams were to get healthy, build wealth, find lasting love, and eventually build a business of his own. Over time, many of those dreams became real through budgeting, training, reading, rebuilding, and making better decisions one step at a time.

But one dream stayed stuck for years.

    The business dream.

That is where the conversation gets honest.

Allen talks about how he could rebuild his health, change his financial life, and become part of a strong marriage, but still struggle to fully step into the founder role required to build Build Your Proof. He had experience. He had ideas. He had years of journals, books, lessons, and frameworks.

But he also had a story.

For years, Allen saw himself as an operator, a second-in-command, and someone who helped other people build their businesses. That identity helped him succeed in his career, but it also became a quiet limitation when it was time to build something of his own.

Together, Katie and Allen unpack why some dreams move forward while others stay trapped in thought, planning, preparation, or productive avoidance.

The lesson is not that every dream comes true just because you want it badly enough.

The lesson is that dreams need more than desire.

    They need meaning.

    They need small actions.

    They need measurable progress.

    They need honest reflection.

And sometimes, they require you to notice the story that is keeping you from becoming the person who can actually build the dream.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Why some dreams come true and others do not
    • What Katie dreamed about before CrossFit and before marriage
    • How a weight loss goal became a deeper health journey
    • How Allen rebuilt his life after divorce, debt, and poor health
    • Why building wealth started with learning how to budget
    • How shared goals changed Katie and Allen’s relationship
    • The Cheesecake Factory date where they dreamed together
    • Why big dreams become less overwhelming when they become smaller actions
    • Why dreams need meaning, not just motivation
    • How old identity stories can limit the next version of your life
    • Why Allen’s business dream stayed stuck longer than the others
    • How Build Your Proof became the dream Allen finally stopped avoiding
    • Why keeping promises creates proof
    • How to start moving the dream you keep thinking about

    This week’s challenge:

Pick one dream that has been sitting in your head for too long.

Not the dream you casually mention.

Not the one that sounds impressive.

The one that keeps coming back.

    Then ask yourself:

What does this dream actually mean to me?

    Why does it matter?

What smaller actions would move it forward?

What story might be keeping me stuck?

What is one promise I can keep this week?

You do not need to make the whole dream come true right now.

You do not need to know every step.

You do not need to become a completely different person overnight.

    You need one action.

    One kept promise.

    One piece of proof.

Because some dreams do not come true all at once.

They come true when you become the kind of person who keeps building them.

  • S2E21: You Know What to Do. So Why Don’t You Do It?
    Aug 6 2026

Most of us already know at least one thing that would make our lives better.

We know the workout would help.

    We know sleep matters.

    We know saving money matters.

We know the hard conversation needs to happen.

So why don’t we do it?

In this episode of Cheese Curds & Coffee, Katie and Allen talk about the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it when the moment arrives.

Katie shares how this showed up after coming home from California sick, trying to prepare for an upcoming fitness competition, and realizing the higher-agency decision was not to push harder — it was to rest, recover, listen to her body, and return when she was ready.

Allen shares how his 5K time trial did not go the way he wanted. After missing his goal, he had the choice to treat it as failure or use it as information. Instead of letting the result become a negative story, he treated it as evidence and kept moving.

Together, they break down why more information is usually not the missing piece.

The missing piece is the moment of choice.

Knowledge tells you what to do.

Self-efficacy is the belief that your action can matter.

Agency is taking action on the choices available to you.

Proof is the evidence that action creates.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Why knowing what to do is not enough
    • Why people keep choosing something else when the moment arrives
    • How immediate gratification pulls us away from long-term goals
    • Why “I’ll start Monday” is usually a story, not a strategy
    • How Katie handled sickness, recovery, and competition prep
    • How Allen reframed a missed 5K goal
    • What the Wright brothers can teach us about action and evidence
    • Why agency is a skill, not a personality trait
    • How small decisions create proof over time

    This week’s challenge:

Choose one area of your life where you already know what to do, but you are not doing it consistently.

Then identify one moment that matters.

    When that moment arrives, ask:

What story am I telling myself?

    What choice is still available?

What is the smallest meaningful action I can take?

What would taking that action prove?

You do not need to fix your whole life this week.

    Find the moment.

    Make the decision.

    Collect the proof.
