  • #058 John Constantine: Secret Service Counter Assault Team
    Oct 19 2026

What does it take to protect the President of the United States? And what happens when the mental demands of the job follow you home?

In this episode of The Change Catalyst Podcast, host TJ Webb sits down with John Constantine, a nearly 23-year veteran of the United States Secret Service whose extraordinary career took him across more than 80 countries and involved protecting four sitting U.S. Presidents.

John spent 15 years serving in the elite Secret Service Counter Assault Team (CAT) and another two and a half years in the Dignitary Protective Division, operating in some of the world's most demanding environments.

But this conversation goes far beyond the badge and the mission.

TJ and John explore the realities of working in high-pressure environments, the importance of leadership, the mental and emotional demands of a career in protective operations, and the challenges of maintaining your identity and mental well-being while dedicating your life to serving others.

From leadership lessons learned in elite operations to the importance of mental health, this episode offers insight into the human side of a career few people ever get to experience.

Because behind every mission, every uniform, and every title, there's a person. And everyone has a story.

  • EP 057 : Chris Gerber / Police Officer / Battle with PTSD
    Oct 12 2026

After 27 years in law enforcement, this week’s guest retired as a Sergeant from the Tustin Police Department in Orange County, California.

Throughout his career, he served in numerous roles, including patrol, investigations, gangs, training, and supervision. But behind nearly three decades of service were injuries and experiences that eventually took a serious toll.

In this episode, we dive into the events that changed the trajectory of his career—including two on-duty vehicle accidents and another incident where he was struck by a car. Those experiences ultimately contributed to PTSD and panic attacks, adding an invisible injury to the physical injuries he was already carrying.

We talk about what those incidents did to him mentally and physically, recognizing PTSD after years on the job, navigating panic attacks, and ultimately facing the reality that his law enforcement career was coming to an end.

After 27 years behind the badge, he medically retired at just 50 years old.

This conversation is about more than a police career. It’s about what happens when the accumulated weight of the job follows you home—and learning how to move forward when the career that defined so much of your life is suddenly over.

Another powerful conversation about the stories and struggles that often exist behind the badge.

  • EP 056 Kyle McQueen: Police officer
    Oct 5 2026

Kyle McQueen has spent nearly his entire adult life answering the call to serve—as a police officer, EMT, volunteer firefighter, and Army National Guard veteran. But after years of responding to other people’s worst days, Kyle eventually had to confront what those experiences were doing to him.In this episode of The Change Catalyst Podcast, Kyle opens up about growing up in a divided household, finding his calling in emergency services at just 16 years old, serving as an Infantryman in the New Jersey Army National Guard, and experiencing traumatic events both overseas and back home.Years of military service, EMS calls, and law enforcement took a cumulative toll. Like many first responders, Kyle became an expert at taking care of everyone around him while ignoring what was happening inside himself. Then, in October 2024, everything changed.Kyle was involved in an officer-involved shooting—an experience that became both one of the darkest moments of his life and the catalyst that forced him to finally address his own mental health. He talks about stepping away from work, asking for help, rebuilding himself, strengthening his marriage, becoming more present as a father, and realizing that vulnerability and strength aren’t opposites. That experience eventually became a new mission. In 2026, Kyle and fellow first responder Chris O’Leary co-founded The Human Behind the Uniform, a peer-to-peer mental health organization dedicated to reminding first responders of something that can easily get lost in the job: before the badge, helmet, radio, or uniform, there is a human being underneath it.This conversation is about cumulative trauma, identity, family, healing, and what happens when the person who is always helping everyone else finally realizes that he needs help too.Sometimes the hardest chapter of your life doesn’t have to be the end of your story. Sometimes, it becomes the reason you help someone else rewrite theirs. Please visit our website to get more information: ChangeCatalystPodcast.comSocial Links:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changecatalyst_podcast✅About The Change Catalyst Podcast:This podcast ain’t for the weak or the fake.
