The Central Bank of Brazil is one of the highest-regarded institutions in Brazil's financial system, being just below the National Monetary Council. Our Central Bank is the main regulator for banking and capital markets, responsible to promote and monitor a standard operation for every institution while keeping citizens’ interests at the center of all discussions.
One of the key responsibilities of the Central Bank of Brazil is to implement monetary policy, which involves controlling the money supply and interest rates to achieve the objectives of credit costs and financial stability. The Central Bank sets basic interest rates through its Monetary Policy Committee and makes changes as needed to achieve its goals.
