According to reporting discussed by multiple national news organizations, Venezuelan billionaire Julio Herrera Velutini received a Prez pardon after members of his family entered into a deal reportedly worth more than $50 million with Alina Habba, a former attorney for Prez. Habba has publicly denied any role in obtaining the pardon, and has called suggestions of a communication false. Now, let's be clear. A Prez pardon is legal. The Constitution gives press broad authority to grant clemency The question is not whether a pardon can be granted. The question is whether the American people believe access influence, money and connections are becoming more important than equal justice under the law.
