Fred Mirachi's world is one of advanced directives and medical ethics. As an experienced emergency physician he shares his harrowing experiences during his residency, where he faced critical decisions that not only impacted his patients' lives but also shaped his perspective on the healthcare system.

What if the patient didn't want to be resuscitated? What if he or she does? What if the family wants no end of life measures taken, but the patient wants to live? The questions and motivations can be complex. How does a physician navigate such mudded waters?

Following the patients' wishes is paramount, Dr. Mirachi says. Better communication between patients and healthcare providers is needed. And Fred has the solution to this.

At Mideo Health, Dr. Mirachi is at the forefront of incorporating technology into advanced care planning. He is introducing patient-to-clinician video tools, which allow patients to express their treatment preferences in a more personal and clear manner. This technology not only enhances communication but also ensures that patients' wishes are accurately interpreted, reducing the risk of end of life medical errors. Fred's hope is for a shift towards a more patient-centered approach, where technology and human connection work hand in hand to improve patient outcomes.

Using QR codes, Mideo Health allows your medical directive to be retrieved in seconds. Doctors can see and hear your wishes immediately, eliminating lost paperwork and ambiguity. And it's covered by Medicare and most insurance plans.

Fred is pushing for a healthcare system that truly respects and prioritizes patient autonomy. This is a fascinating story of how one doctor's experience is changing the medical system for all of us.

Wherever you are in your life, your best thinking got you here.

    Think about that!

In David Price's case, that meant drug addiction, missed oportunities, and more until he eventually hit rock bottom.

But when he attended a 12 step program not for himself, but to support someone else, something changed.

He learned that true rock bottom is not just about losing material possessions, but about losing meaningful relationships. This realization sent David on a personal quest of self-evaluation.

Self evalulation led to invaluable insights on control, faith, and the power of positive relationships. David encourages everyoe to be open-minded to change and revision. And to be willing to reach out for help.

This is a conversation about the power faith over fear and the need for strength, flexibility and community. Join us.

Julie Condliffe was born in Zimbabwe. But early on, she had the dream of becoming a solicitor.

Julie's early life was marked by tragedy and hardship. After the death of her father when she was just a baby, her mother struggled to raise eight children in a country rife with poverty and instability. Despite these challenges, Julie made a pivotal decision at a young age: she would become a solicitor to fight for justice and advocate for those in need.

In 1998, Julie left Zimbabwe for the United Kingdom, seeking a better life. She recalls nights spent sleeping in payphone booths in London. In spite such difficulties, she ultimately achieved her dream of becoming a solicitor.

But Julie's story doesn't end there. After years of successful practice, she faced the biggest bump in her life—a social media hate campaign that led to the loss of her legal career. Despite this setback, Julie found strength in her pain and began to write her book, "Unbreakable." Through this process, she developed the ARISE framework, a powerful tool for navigating life's challenges.

ARISE stands for Acceptance, Roadblocks, Intuition, Sacred Vision, and Enjoying the Journey. Each step offers valuable insights into how we can reframe our challenges and view them as opportunities for growth and transformation. Julie emphasizes the importance of intuition and the need to listen to our inner voice, especially in a world filled with external noise and opinions.

This is a remarkable story of a remarkable woman. It's a story that just might change your life.

What are the broader implications of living with cancer in today's society?

Diagnosed with a rare blood cancer known as myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), Ruth Fein Revell has navigated the complexities of her illness while raising her children and pursuing a career as a freelance writer. All while living over 30 years with chronic cancer and society's stigma/lack of understanding of all that goes with that journey.

Ruth has made a conscious choice not to become her diagnosis, even though it is with her daily. She passionately discusses the need for a shift in how society perceives cancer. 'A prognosis is very often just a number. No one knows how long you're going to live,' she asserts, challenging the conventional views surrounding cancer prognosis.

Perhaps the hardest part of any chronic disease is the sense of isolation. While friends and family may rally around during the initial diagnosis, long term support often fades away.

Ruth offers a different look at managing chronic illness.
