All2-OCTOBER REVIEW: Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) What happens when Elvis Presley and John F. Kennedy team up to take on an ancient Egyptian mummy in a nursing home? You get one of the strangest, funniest, and most unexpectedly heartfelt horror movies ever made! In this episode of All2ReelToo's ALL2-OCTOBER REVIEW series, we take a look at Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) — the cult horror-comedy that asks the important questions: What if Elvis were still alive? What if JFK survived an assassination attempt? And what if both of them ended up stuck in a nursing home battling a soul-sucking Egyptian mummy? When residents of the nursing home begin dying under mysterious circumstances, an aging man claiming to be the real Elvis Presley and his friend, an African-American senior who insists he is President John F. Kennedy, discover that something far more sinister is stalking the halls. Their unlikely enemy? Bubba Ho-Tep, an ancient Egyptian mummy with a serious grudge — and a deadly appetite for the souls of the elderly. But beneath all the outrageous humor, bizarre premise, and supernatural mayhem, Bubba Ho-Tep has surprisingly touching things to say about aging, mortality, identity, regret, friendship, loneliness, and finding a reason to keep fighting when you think your best days are behind you. Starring Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis, this is a movie that manages to be hilarious, creepy, strange, and genuinely moving all at once. Bruce Campbell as Elvis Presley / Sebastian Haff Ossie Davis as John F. "Jack" Kennedy Ella Joyce as The Nurse Heidi Marnhout as Callie Thomas Bob Ivy as Bubba Ho-Tep Larry Pennell as Kemosabe Daniel Roebuck as Hearse Driver Reggie Bannister as Rest Home Administrator So grab your blue suede shoes, dust off your presidential credentials, and prepare for a showdown unlike any other! It's Elvis. It's JFK. It's a mummy.
