  • EP 7 - The Father Review + Should You Keep Visiting a Grandparent Who Doesn't Remember You?
    Oct 14 2026

This week we talk about The Father, Florian Zeller's adaptation of his own stage play about a man slowly losing his grip on time, place, and the people he loves. Before we get there, I tell Josh about seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and my gripe with how it handles time travel, and Josh climbs on his soapbox about reboots and remakes.

Then we get into the movie: trying (and failing) to write a synopsis, piecing together the timeline, the brilliant set design that quietly anchors you in time, the tiny cast, and why neither of us could come up with a single nitpick. Watching it brought up a lot about our own grandma and her dementia, and Josh and I end up genuinely disagreeing about whether you should keep visiting someone who no longer remembers you.

We finish with our rating (assign the movie an old person), a Tom Cruise filmography challenge, a plea to back up your files, and a plug for Josh's cover art.

  • EP 6 - Robin Hood: Men in Tights Review | The Cary Elwes Problem
    Oct 7 2026

This week we review Robin Hood: Men in Tights. It was Jacob's first time seeing it, and he loved almost everything about it except the one guy it's named after. Sorry, Cary Elwes.

We get into our favorite characters (Achoo steals the whole movie), our favorite scenes, who we'd recast as Robin Hood, and why the joke-every-15-seconds style of comedy from Mel Brooks and Airplane has mostly disappeared. We also debut a new Wavelength-style rating system, where Josh has to rate the movie somewhere between warm fresh bread and spoiled milk.

Plus: Josh pitches some truly terrible movie ideas, Jacob goes on a tangent about Norse heathenism, and Josh reveals the next actor challenge: Kurt Russell.

Brother, What a Movie is a production of Jacob and Josh Strong. Outro music by Kale Higby.

  • EP 5 - Ghost Rider (2007) Scores a Chuck E. Cheese
    Sep 30 2026

We watched the 2007 Nicolas Cage Ghost Rider and then recorded this episode outside at about 11:50 at night, in the middle of a family reunion camping trip in Fruitland, Utah. Everybody else went to bed, so it's just the two of us, some citronella candles, a lot of daddy long legs, and the occasional coyote.

We also debut a new rating system in this one. Instead of stars out of five, we give each other a totally subjective scale and you have to land somewhere on it. Ghost Rider scored a Chuck E. Cheese.

Brother, What a Movie is a podcast by Jacob and Josh Strong. Intro and outro music by Kale Higby.
