What will the next 250 years of Boston’s history look like? As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, it’s a good time to take stock of the most significant changes that have happened in the quarter millennium since 1775, and extrapolate out to what Boston might look like in 2275. We’ll dig into what got the Boston area to where it is today as a thriving intellectual, commercial and academic hub, and what we can take from that to help guide us through the next 250 years. What are various possible futures for Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and New England as a whole? What can we do today to give future citizens the best chance of thriving and living rewarding lives?
