The Season One finale is here! And the theme is ✨MONSTERS AND MAGISTRATES...✨

THIS MONSTER OF MINE feels like a cult hit--with rave reviews, a dedicated fanbase, and an author who dreamed so big she quit her job in law to pursue writing fantasy novels. The novel follows eighteen-year-old Sarai, who bears the scars form a failed murder attempt four years ago. Her memory of the event is lost, and she doesn't know who did it. What she does know, is that her case was closed without justice. Hellbent on vengeance, she returns to the scene of the crime as a Petitor, a prosecutor who can magically detect lies, and is assigned to work with Tetrarch Kadra. Ice-cold and perennially sadistic, Kadra is the most vicious of the four judges who rule the land - and the prime suspect in a string of deaths identical to Sarai's attempted murder...

With a love interest that looks like Ben Barnes, and a female main character who will stop at nothing to find the truth, this book is dazzling in its execution. We are therefore delighted to welcome Shalini Abeysekara to our Book Club in the Pub!

Cheers🍻📕🎧🎙

Welcome back to Book Club in the Pub, your new favourite podcast where we discuss your favourite books with your favourite authors. Joining us for our fifth episode is Sunday Times Bestselling author Jennifer Delaney.

Delaney's deliciously gothic Romantasy TALES OF A MONSTROUS HEART published to rapturous acclaim and developed a dedicated following due to its haunting story about a woman whose magic threatens the systems of power, and the love she finds with an elusive lord in his magical manor... In this episode, Esmie and Jennifer Delaney talk about the realities and sacrifices that come with being an author in 2026, what you would do if you found yourself in your own plot, and what 'failure' really means. Jen reflects on the monumental achievement of writing a whole trilogy, as well as the wild ride of publishing a novel in this day and age.

The theme for today’s book club is ✨ Monsters and Demons.✨ Enjoy!🍻🎧🎙

Welcome back to Book Club in the Pub, your new favourite podcast where we discuss your favourite books with your favourite authors. Joining us for our fourth episode is none other than the fabulous E.S. Mcleod. Ella's book, ANDROMEDA, reclaims an ancient myth, and captures our hearts in the process. Tune in for a discussion about sapphic fantasy, writing from the margins, and why we all love a sexy villain. Ella dives deep into her source material, and dazzles with her pitch for this latest novel:

Blessed by the gods with unparalleled beauty, Andromeda lives a life of ease within her Aethiopian palace walls. Content with her sanctuary, the young princess has no concerns other than the royal expectations her parents have for her – until a single, fateful proclamation changes everything.

The theme for today’s book club is ✨ myth and magic.✨ Enjoy!
