  • Nebraska vs Washington Pregame Show: 18–0 Huskers, 3 Keys to Win + Stopping the Huskies BIG Freshman| Bleav in Nebraska
    Jan 21 2026

WELCOME IN HUSKER NATION to another episode of the Bleav in Nebraska Podcast — I’m your host Bryan Colbert Jr., and this is your Nebraska Basketball Pregame Show!

The 18–0 Huskers are back home tonight at Pinnacle Bank Arena getting set to take on a 10–8 Washington team that’s been up and down in Big Ten play — but don’t get it twisted: the Huskies have a physical frontcourt and a freshman star who can turn this into a grind if Nebraska isn’t sharp early.

    Top Storyline

Everyone expects Nebraska’s historic run to continue… but Washington brings a “Big Ten-style” toughness, and if Nebraska lets them hang around, this game can get uncomfortable late. That’s why tonight is about starting strong, defending with purpose, and dictating tempo.

    BC’s 3 Keys to Victory

    1) GET OFF TO A FAST START
Nebraska has been an elite second-half team — but if this group wants to level up, it has to stop letting teams breathe early. Find the shooters, make shots, and keep that defense locked in. If Nebraska builds an early lead, Washington doesn’t have the firepower to chase it.

    2) SLOW DOWN THEIR STAR FRESHMAN: HANNES STEINBACH
Steinbach has been Washington’s bright spot — a legit double-double threat who can score and rebound at a high level. This is a major test for Nebraska’s interior, and a matchup that should bring out the best in Rienk Mast. The goal: keep Steinbach out of easy post touches, make him finish over bodies, and dare him into the kinds of perimeter looks you can live with.

    3) PROTECT THE BASKETBALL
Great teams value possessions — and Nebraska’s identity is built on clean offense, low turnovers, and turning teams over on the other end. If Nebraska takes care of the ball and forces Washington into mistakes, the shot volume and shot quality will tilt hard toward the Huskers.

  • Nebraska Jumps to No. 7 After Northwestern Win (18–0!) + Nebrask Football Defensive Staff Hires | Bleav in Nebraska
    Jan 20 2026

    WELCOME IN, HUSKER NATION!

On today’s episode of Bleav in Nebraska, we’re keeping it tight and current with everything that’s happened since last Thursday — and we start with the headline the whole country is finally screaming:

NEBRASKA IS UP TO A PROGRAM-BEST NO. 7 IN THE AP TOP 25.
That jump comes right after a dominant road win at Northwestern where the Huskers handled business from start to finish.

Husker Heat Check: Nebraska stays PERFECT

Nebraska crushed Northwestern 77–58 to move to 18–0 overall and 7–0 in Big Ten play — and it didn’t feel fluky or fragile. It felt controlled.

    • Pryce Sandfort: 20 points
    • Braden Frager: 20 points
    • Sam Hoiberg: 12 points + 7 boards
The biggest takeaway? 18–0 isn’t just historic — it’s starting to look repeatable. This team is showing week-to-week consistency, toughness, and the ability to win games without needing a miracle finish.

Football: Staff hires + QB competition vibes

Then we pivot to football as Matt Rhule continues the build toward 2026 with official defensive staff moves:

    • Corey Brown hired as defensive line coach
    • Miles Taylor hired as safeties coach
This is the foundation phase — if Nebraska gets stronger in the trenches and cleaner on the back end, everything else gets easier.

And we close with a big QB note: Anthony Colandrea (new transfer QB) toured the football facilities — and the important part isn’t just the visit, it’s what it represents: real QB competition and a clear signal that Nebraska is serious about upgrading the room and raising the floor heading into next season.

We’ll keep tracking what these staff hires mean for recruiting momentum and what the defensive identity looks like as this roster continues to take shape.

  • Dylan Raiola to Oregon + Dante Moore Returning | Nebraska Hoops 17–0 After 90–55 Oregon Win | Bleav in Nebraska
    Jan 16 2026

    Husker Nation… welcome in!

We’ve got a packed, current episode with ONLY the latest news since Monday — and it starts with the biggest football domino of the week: Dylan Raiola is reportedly transferring to Oregon. We react in real time to what that means for Dylan, what it means for Nebraska’s immediate future, and how quickly the landscape shifts when the portal news hits.

And almost right behind it came another major twist: Oregon’s CFP starting QB is returning — which changes the entire context of the move and sparks the obvious question: what does the timeline and path look like now?

From there, we hit Nebraska’s newest roster notes and portal updates:

    • QB Daniel Kaelin returning to Nebraska — what this does for the QB room and why it matters right now
    • Towson safety Jasin Siggs joins the picture — a proven, productive DB with real versatility (box, slot, free safety) and strong production across two seasons
    • What Nebraska still needs most as this roster continues to take shape for 2026

Then we pivot to the best part: Husker hoops is STILL unbeaten.
No. 8 Nebraska demolished Oregon 90–55 to move to 17–0, and it wasn’t subtle — Nebraska hit a season-high 17 threes, controlled the pace, and looked every bit like a true top-10 team when the offense is humming and the defense stays locked in.

    • Pryce Sandfort (28) and Braden Frager (23) combined for 51 — both dropping 7 threes in a shooting clinic.

We close with a quick look-ahead to Nebraska vs Northwestern on Saturday, and we’ll tease a full pregame show — because Northwestern is still hunting for its first Big Ten win, and Nebraska has to keep stacking clean performances if this historic start is going to keep building.

  • Nebraska Basketball Stays Unbeaten: 16-Point Comeback vs Indiana + Husker Football Portal/Recruits | Bleav in Nebraska
    Jan 12 2026

Husker Nation… the last few days have been a straight momentum swing.

We start with Nebraska men’s basketball staying unbeaten and proving (again) this team has real toughness. The Huskers rallied from down 16 to knock off Indiana 83–77, pushing the record to 16–0 and keeping that national buzz loud. Big-time road win, big-time resilience — and a real “we’re not panicking” identity showing up when the game gets uncomfortable.

Then we pivot to Husker football recruiting/portal news from this week only — because the roster is moving fast:

    • UCLA WR Kwazi Gilmer commits to Nebraska — a proven, experienced target added to the room with eligibility remaining.
    • DB Malcolm Hartzog Jr. commits to Arizona — one of the notable departures as Nebraska continues reshaping the secondary. ️️
    • We also briefly nod to the week’s theme: this is the new era — you’re constantly balancing adds, exits, and fit while building toward 2026.

We close with the big picture: hoops is legit and built to survive adversity, and football is in the middle of a roster build that’s going to define the ceiling next season.

    Dec 31 2025

    Husker Nation… it’s go time.

We’re recapping EVERYTHING that’s happened in the last few days as Nebraska hoops keeps rolling unbeaten and gets set to close the non-con slate tonight vs New Hampshire at Pinnacle Bank Arena on BTN. The headline is simple: keep stacking wins, keep stacking respect — and if Nebraska gets to 13–0, that’s rare air for this program.

Then we flip it to football as Nebraska puts the final touches on Las Vegas Bowl prep vs No. 15 Utah at Allegiant Stadium on ESPN. We break down the biggest recent updates, including:

    • DeShon Singleton ruled out (huge piece in the back end)

    • Knaak expected to play despite the broken hand

    • Geep Wade settling in as the new O-line voice during bowl prep

    • The overall tone: Rhule, players, and staff locked into details with daily media and a “finish strong” mindset in Vegas

We close with two simple keys: protect the football + win hidden yards, and make sure the secondary communication is clean without Singleton. If Nebraska plays sharp and plays physical, they’ve got a shot to steal one and end 2025 with momentum.

Husker Heat Check — Statement win at No. 13 Illinois
Nebraska goes into Champaign and pulls off an 83–80 road gut-check, capped by a last-second game-winning three from Jamarques Lawrence. And we’ve got to talk about it: Pryce Sandfort drops a career-high 32 in a game that felt like a “season-defining” moment.

Nebraska Football — New staff is official + bowl prep tone
It’s official: Nebraska announces Rob Aurich as defensive coordinator and Geep Wade as offensive line coach. We discuss what kind of identity Matt Rhule is trying to build with these moves — and the one thing we need to see in the bowl game that signals this program is leveling up.
