  • Hurricane Weather, Bounceback Stakes: Florida-South Carolina Preview ft. Rixon Lane
    Oct 9 2026

Florida and South Carolina are both coming off tough losses, and a hurricane is headed for Gainesville. We’re joined by Rixon Lane, host of Bleav in South Carolina, to preview the game. He also shares the story of his book and his family’s nonprofit, Project Hope Foundation.

    Topics Discussed

    • Meet the guest. A South Carolina grad (2014, broadcast journalism) who spent about 10 years in college athletics as a sports information director, including stops at Eastern Kentucky and Coastal Carolina. He started hosting South Carolina coverage at the end of the 2024 season.
    • His book and Project Hope Foundation. A middle-grade baseball story about two brothers, inspired by his younger brother, who is autistic. His wife did the cover art and illustrations, and proceeds go to Project Hope Foundation. His mom founded the nonprofit in 1997, and it began in a church Sunday school room with 18 kids. It’s now the largest nonprofit provider of autism services in South Carolina, with more than 300 clients across eight campuses. He also talks about his brother’s progress, and the foundation’s push for an independent-living housing community.
    • What went wrong against Kentucky. South Carolina can’t close out games, and its pass defense is among the worst in the country. He explains why that has put Shane Beamer’s job under scrutiny.
    • Is the roster talented? Jon Sumrall called it the most talented roster Florida will face. Rixon agrees and puts the problems on coaching.
    • Beamer’s job security. The talk is that South Carolina may not be able to afford a buyout, and the guest weighs in on the fan base’s frustration.
    • LaNorris Sellers. What makes him dangerous out of the pocket, the effect of three offensive coordinators in three years, his receivers’ drops, and why his quiet personality shapes his play.
    • Keys to the game. Stopping Jadan Baugh, making Aaron Philo throw, and winning the run game in bad weather.
    • Front-runners vs. comeback ability. South Carolina has struggled to finish games, and Florida looked lost when it fell behind against Missouri.
    • Dylan Stewart’s status. He’s practicing this week and isn’t on the availability report.
    • Players to watch. Matt Fuller for South Carolina and Eric Singleton for Florida.
    • Score predictions.

  • What Happened in Florida’s Humiliating Loss to Missouri? | With Isaac Edelman
    Oct 8 2026

Caroline King is joined by Gator Game Day host and analyst Isaac Edelman for a conversation about his journey into sports broadcasting, his experience hosting Gator Game Day, and the latest Florida Gators football storylines.

Isaac shares how he got into sports broadcasting at just nine years old after attending a sports broadcasting camp, which he continued attending for 10 years. He discusses the lessons he learned from broadcasters at the camp, the importance of saying yes to opportunities, getting meaningful reps, and being willing to accept constructive feedback.

The conversation then turns to Isaac’s first experience hosting Gator Game Day. He explains what goes into preparing for a live pregame show and why he considers Gator Game Day one of the best opportunities available to UF students. Isaac also discusses his goal of becoming a versatile on-air talent and how hosting has helped him develop skills in leadership, interviewing, preparation, entertainment, play-by-play, and sideline reporting.

Caroline and Isaac then break down Florida’s 45–17 loss to Missouri. They discuss the Gators’ defensive struggles, Missouri’s ability to shut down both Florida’s rushing and passing attacks, and the importance of how Florida responds to its first loss of the season.

The two take a closer look at Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons and Florida’s struggles in the secondary and pass rush. They discuss Florida’s man-to-man coverage, the lack of consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and the increased responsibility on the Gators’ linebacker group to create pressure.

Caroline and Isaac also discuss Jadan Baugh’s unfortunate performance against Missouri, when he finished with just 13 rushing yards on 12 carries. They examine whether Missouri’s run defense or Florida’s offensive game plan was more responsible for Baugh’s struggles and discuss how the performance affected his Heisman Trophy campaign.

Isaac also shares what he heard during media availability with defensive coordinator Brad White following the loss. The conversation focuses on Florida’s defensive intensity, tackling, defensive scheme, and the need for more players to step up when the offense is unable to carry the team.

Caroline and Isaac discuss Isaac’s conversation with former Gator and two-time national champion Brandon Spikes, including Spikes’ perspective on tackling, aggression, and the importance of making plays rather than relying on another defender.

The episode wraps up with a preview of Florida’s upcoming matchup against South Carolina. Isaac explains why he expects the Gators to bounce back in a big way and discusses South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer’s job security, the Gamecocks’ struggles, their offseason changes, and the pressure surrounding the program.

To close out the episode, Caroline puts Isaac through the Gators Gauntlet, where he reveals his favorite Gator of all time, his most underrated current Florida player, and his favorite Gainesville restaurant.

The conversation covers Missouri’s loss to Mississippi State, the Tigers’ biggest offensive and defensive priorities, Austin Simmons’ emergence at quarterback, how Missouri can try to slow down Jadan Baugh and Florida’s passing attack, and the similarities between the two teams’ defensive and penalty issues. Caroline and Nate also discuss Florida’s dominant win over Ole Miss, the return of a Spurrier-era feeling in Gainesville, Jadan Baugh’s Heisman Trophy case, Florida’s unique status as a college football blue blood, and what has changed under new head coach Jon Sumrall. The episode wraps up with both Caroline and Nate giving their score predictions for Saturday’s matchup. TIMESTAMPS 00:00–1:56 — Intro & Caroline airs her grievances about Missouri Caroline opens the episode by explaining her long-standing frustrations with Missouri, including recent Florida football and basketball losses to the Tigers. 1:56–4:38 — What stood out to Nate in Missouri’s loss to Mississippi State? Nate breaks down Missouri’s 2026 loss to Mississippi State and explains why the game was a good representation of the Tigers’ season so far. He discusses Missouri’s new-look roster, the challenges of integrating transfers, and the team’s struggles on both sides of the ball. 4:38–7:57 — What is Missouri’s main priority against Florida? Nate explains what Missouri needs to do defensively to slow down Florida, including keeping the Gators’ defensive line out of the backfield and giving Austin Simmons enough time to find his receivers. 7:57–10:41 — What have we seen from Austin Simmons this year? Nate gives the Missouri perspective on Austin Simmons’ emergence at quarterback and explains why his accuracy, decision-making and ability to read the field have made him such a different quarterback from what Missouri has had in recent years. 10:41–13:34 — What does Missouri need to do offensively to win? Nate discusses Missouri’s struggles converting third downs and maintaining drives. He explains why the Tigers need to improve their first- and second-down approach, establish longer possessions and find ways to consistently move the ball. 13:34–17:37 — How can Missouri stop Jadan Baugh and Florida’s passing game? Nate explains why Missouri may actually prefer Florida to run the ball rather than attack through the air. He breaks down the Tigers’ struggles defending explosive plays and discusses how Missouri could try to force Florida to put together long drives instead of giving up big plays. 17:37–19:24 — Florida vs. Ole Miss & the return of the Spurrier era? Caroline and Nate discuss Florida’s dominant 52–28 win over Ole Miss and whether the performance brought back memories of the Steve Spurrier era, when the Gators were known for overwhelming highly ranked opponents. 19:24–24:17 — What is the key to stopping the penalties? Nate breaks down Missouri’s penalty problems and explains which types of penalties have been particularly costly. Caroline compares Missouri’s struggles with Florida’s own issues with penalties and undisciplined play. 24:17–26:50 — Can Jadan Baugh win the Heisman? Nate weighs in on Baugh’s incredible start to the season and why Florida fans should enjoy watching a special running back—even if winning the Heisman as a non-quarterback presents an additional challenge. 26:50–29:02 — Is Florida a weird college football blue blood? Caroline and Nate discuss Florida’s unusual history, including the massive highs of the Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer eras and the inconsistency between those championship-level teams. 29:02–32:31 — Score Prediction Nate and Caroline make their predictions for Florida-Missouri before wrapping up the episode and looking ahead to Saturday’s Top 25 matchup.
