  • Spaces | The Temple
    Oct 21 2026

In the final week of our Spaces series, Sam Schubkegel steps into the host chair for the first time, joined by Amelia Rhodes and first-time guest Nancy Erickson. Nancy holds a PhD in Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East, is an editor at Zondervan Academic, and has been a longtime resource for our teaching pastors. She shares how living and traveling in Israel has brought Scripture to life for her, and walks us through what archaeologists are uncovering right now around the Temple Mount and the City of David. Together, the team talks about how God designed sacred spaces like the tabernacle and the temple, yet he can’t be contained by any building. Through Jesus, his people are now his temple. Sam and Amelia close with this week’s focus on holiness and the Greek word hagios, meaning “set apart.” Beyond the Weekend will take a week off and return on November 4 with the start of the Discipleship Journey series.

  • Spaces | The Sea
    Oct 14 2026

In this episode of the Beyond the Weekend Podcast, Amelia Rhodes and Sam Schubkegel welcome Stephen Lewis, our Executive Director of Ministries and Missions, to talk about the Sea and the fears that leave us feeling out of control. Stephen shares a storm story from the Sea of Galilee, plus the history of the first-century “Jesus boat” and the Sea Peoples. Together they talk about how fear shapes us and what it looks like to parent from trust instead of fear. They also unpack why Jesus told one person to “go and tell” and another to “tell no one,” and how we can become safe people who receive others’ stories well. Wherever you are in the storm, this conversation is a reminder that Jesus is bigger than our greatest fears.

  • Spaces | The Road
    Sep 30 2026

Spaces | S10E3 Beyond the Weekend Podcast

In this episode of the Beyond the Weekend Podcast, Amelia Rhodes and Stephen Lewis welcome first-time guest Rachael Sproull, Cascade Campus worship leader, to the studio to dig deeper into The Road, the third message in the Spaces series. Together, they discuss different road encounters from Scripture. Stephen explains what Balaam's donkey sees that the famous seer can't. He also describes who the Ethiopian official is and what it costs him to travel more than a thousand miles to worship. Along the way, Rachael shares her own story. She grew up in a pastor's home and spent years dependent on prescription medication. Then the Holy Spirit met her on a drive home and again on her front porch, which led to freedom and a new calling. The conversation lands on a hopeful truth: no one is too far gone, and wherever we are on the road, Jesus invites us to follow him and sends us out as his witnesses.

  • Spaces | Springs of Life
    Sep 23 2026

In this episode of the Beyond the Weekend Podcast, Amelia Rhodes and Luke Koskinen welcome Pastor Aaron Buer back to the studio to dig deeper into Springs of Water, the second message in the Spaces series. They talk through how Aaron chooses which passages to preach—and why he turned to Ezekiel's lesser-known vision of a river flowing from the temple—before tracing the connections between Jeremiah 17, Psalm 1, and the image of a tree planted by flowing streams. The conversation turns honest as they discuss what to do when you're doing "all the right things" spiritually and still feel dry, and each confesses the cisterns they're tempted to dig instead of resting by God's river. From there, they follow the imagery of the Dead Sea, Ezekiel, and Jesus all the way to Revelation 22, landing on a simple truth: only God can bring life to dry and dead places.

  • Powerful Prayers | Paul's Prayer
    Jun 24 2026

Powerful Prayers | S9E7 Beyond The Weekend Podcast

In the final episode of our Powerful Prayers series, Amelia Rhodes and Stephen Lewis sit down with Pastor Aaron to unpack Paul's prayer for the church in Colossae. Together, they explore the history of this small but significant city, the cultural pressures facing the early church, and Paul's desire for believers to grow in a deep, experiential knowledge of God. The conversation highlights what it means to keep God's Word central in everyday life, why true Christian strength comes from God's power rather than our own, and how enduring faith is formed through daily dependence on Christ (with some bonus Summer tips!). As the series concludes, listeners are encouraged to continue growing in prayer, trusting that God uses ordinary prayers to transform our hearts, strengthen his people, and advance the gospel in our families, friendships, and communities.

  • Spaces | The Land of Promise
    Sep 16 2026

In this episode of the Beyond the Weekend Podcast, Stephen Lewis and Amelia Rhodes sit down with Pastor Aaron Buer to explore what it really means to live a blessed life. As they unpack the first message in the Spaces series, they challenge the common idea that blessing means comfort, success, or getting what we want, and instead point to the deeper blessing of knowing and trusting God—even in seasons of suffering and uncertainty. Through honest conversation about pain, unanswered prayer, community, and learning to trust God’s promises over time, they explore how we can become conduits of God’s blessing to the people around us. The conversation ultimately invites us to consider: What might need to change in our lives for us to become more of a conduit of blessing?
